Re: What are you looking forward to?
Going to see my sister and nephew for the first time in eighteen months!
I miss them a lot. They live in Spain. I'm a bit nervous about the whole flying during a pandemic thing. What if I fail a Covid test and get stuck over there? But I haven't seen them for ages. |

Re: What are you looking forward to?
Going to Bloodstock festival, can't wait, even though a bunch of the bands I was most looking forward to had to pull out.
Went in 2018 and it was great, though by the Sunday my anxiety got the better of me :-/. Hopefully this time I can make it all the way :-). |

Re: What are you looking forward to?
^^^^ Freedom day! I hope you enjoy your day, biscuits.
^^^ I'm sure you'll be fine, anxiouslondoner - there's no more reason to think you would catch it abroad than here - have a great trip. ^^ Bloodstock's great, you're making me wish I was going now. ^ I saw posters for that when I was in London three weeks ago, I hope you enjoy it - and your other days out - Tubbs and look forward to reading your impression of it. Tomorrow, I'm going "abroad" for the first (and probably only) time this year - to the Isle of Man (it is an independent country, honest!). Later in the week, I'm heading to the one part of the United Kingdom I've never visited - Northern Ireland. |

Re: What are you looking forward to?
^^^That sounds interesting.
^^^^I'm not judging you man. My friend stayed at home when her husband and kids went away (they are older though). She didn't mention anything about shitting with the door open though. It was more about chilling alone with the cat and not having to tidy up after anyone. |

Re: What are you looking forward to?
Recieving my new passport!
My legal documents will for the first time show a big fat F instead of a big fat M Of course there's the birth certificate and the legal idiocracy of having to tell a panel of people I've never met that I'm actually a girl, the years of transition and change of all other legal documents are actually real but then I know someone in the UK who had received genital surgery and been living as female for eight YEARS being refused. Does a birth certificate matter? Not really. Not anymore. Women retire at the same age as men now so there's no financial benefit to doing so Still, I digress, once I get it, it's only a new NHS number I need to get from the GP and then I think I'm pretty much set for the near future. |

Re: What are you looking forward to?
So I received my new passport today. Yay right? Well it would be yay if there weren't several DEEP scratches through the black and white photo.
Whilst I don't know for sure, it feels deliberate as it's directly over the photo with several deep scratches rendering the passport invalid. I've contacted the home office, but as far as I'm aware, this is considered an invalid passport. I don't want to say transphobia, but it feels that way. Either way, the passport I've waited eight weeks for is invalid because someone decided to scratch it. I give up. I really do |

Re: What are you looking forward to?
^^^ I'd really hope that isn't the reason, but there are some massive tits in this world.
I'd be tempted to tell the Home Office that it appears like it could be an act of transphobia and you'll share it on social media or take it to the media proper if they don't replace it quickly and look into how it occurred (even if you don't intend to really). Either way, I hope it's sorted fast - it shouldn't be so much bloody hassle. |

Re: What are you looking forward to?
No way!!! That's God awful! I'm so sorry, MissKatie.
I don't know if it will help you feel better, but honestly I wouldn't rule out total incompetence as being the reason for the scratches. I can't say for sure, but anything involving passports with the UK right now is an outright mess. I've been stalking the UK Visa reddit, and I see lots of people there getting their passports returned with ripped out pages, incorrect vignettes (as in my case), or it is outright stolen/lost. So it could just be some moron tossing them about without a care. I like Appear's advice though. I imagine it's costly to have it replaced... I think it's always good to leave a paper trail going though, so even if a complaint is documented then it may be looked into properly. I'm sorry, you don't deserve that. <3 |

Miss Katie, that is absolutely awful . I’m so sorry that you’ve experienced this.
I hope you managed to speak with someone helpful. If not, you could seek support with citizens advice. |

Re: What are you looking forward to?
Still waiting to hear back from them.
There's absolutely nothing online about scratches being on the photo as part of a security measure (as someone suggested) and you'd imagine people would be asking these things online before me if it was meant to be like this. It's the worst timing as I need to apply for a new GP and a new job, which was the whole point of the passport. The idea that I might have to send it back and for them to potentially charge me for something THEY did... Oh jeez ..I'm just so... yeah |

Re: What are you looking forward to?
This is a bit gross lol
I've had a skin tag in my upper back since I was a child, it's slowly grown and gotten it's own blood supply over my lifetime. It's comparative in size to a large marble. Since I've been wearing a bra, the strap had kept rubbing against it making it really sore. So I bought a home freezing kit and used it. The pain was incredible and the soreness for two weeks afterwards has been awful! Now it's going black and dying. It's going to fall off soon and I'm excited to finally have a normal back lol |

Re: What are you looking forward to?
^ Ooh well congrats on the removal! Lol!
I had one on my neck that just... vanished one day. I have to wear an apron at work, so I kind of wonder if it rubbed off from that. XD Kind of gross to think about. Uhhh at least it's gone though? :D |
