It's more convenience than anything else, and a lack of stuff in the cupboard

Earlier I had home-made Banoffee desert using marsala soaked sponge fingers as the base then a layer of sliced banana some condensed milk caramel, whipped double cream then topped off with chocolate sprinkles, I think there's about one and a bit portions left now but i have enough ingredients left to make another one.

A feta cheese with and nutmeg filo triangle. Made them earlier to get rid of some feta. Big mistake! v. moorish.

^^^ I remember finding Chomps exhausting to eat. They had that sort of caramel (toffee?) where you have to chew so much your jaw aches and you just wish you'd had a Fudge instead.

And I had serious reservations about Curly Wurlys. A) Same sort of rubbish caratoffee, and B) half of it's missing, but in a 'fun' way so it's 'alright'. No, it's 'not'.

And, urgh, this talk of sweets just made me think of those chocolate cigarettes you could buy that came in child-friendly fag packets and everything. They had that edible paper around them, but sometimes it would wad up as you ate them and it'd feel like you were actually chewing a wet Rizla.

Pile of veg, 40g each of:-

Carrot, swede, leek, butternut squash, sweetcorn, runner beans, peas, peppers, and courgette. + 80g broccoli and a diced spud. Cooked lightly with some dried herbs.

Add one tin of veg soup, more dried herbs, fresh ground pepper, and a level teaspoon of hot curry powder.

Then add a tin of bean salad as I didn't have a tin of mixed beans.

Simmer until piping hot and but do not boil.

Split into two to save some for tomorrow.

Eaten with two slices of wholemeal seeded toast.

It was a lot better than I thought it would be.

Followed by grapes and an apple.

I must buy some more nuts as they would have been nice.

This morning was a breakfast rollover day. There was only enough cereal left for about another bowl and a half, so I had an extra large helping. Aldi do a good box of Honey & Nut Clusters for little more than a quid. It tastes so sweet that I suspect I may be eating some sort of flapjack mix for breakfast, but it doesn't have a cartoon tiger or monkey on the box so it counts as grown up cereal.

It does have a couple of little cartoon bees, but I'd argue that they're just to denote the honey content, due to their lack of cheeky anthropomorphic faces or quirky catchphrases, and anyone who says otherwise can frankly go **** themselves.

A 10 calorie pot of jelly. It feels like cheating. The only thing that's stopping me from buying entire pallets of it is the suspicion that there has to be a catch and it'll cause untold bum bother.
