Hair thread
I'm curious, what do you do with your hair care day to day? Do you care how your hair looks or not bothered? Is it important in how you see others? Or could ya care less about it all?
Any hairstyles you prefer or would like to try but haven't? Just wondering ***55358;***56596; |

Re: Hair thread
Well mine needs cutting but my hairdresser is on holiday.
1) Wash it two to three times a week 2) Use shampoo and conditioner, I like dove shampoo 3) Rub in some oil serum when wet 4) Blow dry it 5) Straighten it 6) Use some spray |

Re: Hair thread
I don't go to the hairdresser's, I trim my hair myself.
I wash it every few days using sulphate free shampoo and then conditioner. I let it air dry, I don't even own a hair dryer! That's it, pretty low maintenance. |

Re: Hair thread
I require my own hair to look like I dont care.
I think I actually dont care but then again when I get it wrong and it looks like a 'style' I feel self conscious so I must care to some degree, I just want to look like I dont care. As long as people dont think this is intentional then I am fine. I cut it myself and always have. I have been to a hairdressers once to get my floppy mowhawk for the last day of school. Luckily its totally uncontrollable and I rarely check it so it rarely disappoints me. I assume you are talking about head hair right ? My pubic hair is in the design of a mandelbrot fractal using all the colours of the rainbow *waves hand across the sky* |

Re: Hair thread
My hair is appalling, I have no natural female abilities when it comes to doing anything with it. I wash it every few days, comb it and let it air dry most of the time. Or I dry it with my Babylis brush thing. When it starts to drive me mad I'll chop an inch or two off it, sometimes it looks okay, more often it looks shit.
I dye it different colours when I'm bored. I hate my face though so caring too much about my hair seems pointless, I try and make it cover as much face as I can get away with without me bumping into things. |

Re: Hair thread
I used to cut my own hair ( avoidance ) up until about four or so yrs ago. I had some clippers at home and basically I could only do a crew cut so then id let it grow until it was all over the place then I'd repeat the self harm with the clippers :/
People used to say pretty rude things like ' oh you should do something with your hair' or ' your hair lets you down', which pissed me off tbh. I was under no illusion I looked good. Now I just go to the barber but still struggle to force myself until it's getting feral up top. Also, i worry that people think ' he thinks he's good looking' or ' love myself' by making some effort with it. I think i just try to ' fit in' by going to a barber really. @ clementine - your hair always looks lovely in photos girly! |

Re: Hair thread
The creative insults I have had about my hair just make me glad people see its not a lifestyle choice. Its a happening. Its an event. Oh, I didnt answer the care and product bit. I wake up and sometimes I run my fingers through it to straighten it. I wash it every few days with whatever crap I find near my bath at the time, often some kind of shampoo.
"mental patient hair" is the one that had me in stitches. I forgot to be anxious about getting mugged when that got shouted at me. I mean well done that man/child. I agree with the migglatron 2300 spambot unit, your hair is lovely clementine, I had red hair for a bit and I didnt pull it off anywhere near as well as you do. |

Re: Hair thread
I have a badly receding hairline, I look like a weird egg if I shave my head.
You cannot lose if you do not play so I just let it do it's thing and mess it up into a facsimile of a haircut. |

Re: Hair thread
I do all sorts with my hair. French plaits, pigtails, pony tail, one of those big bun things that Adele used to have (but smaller ) I'll use mousse and scrunch it or straighten it. I usually have a different hair style every day. If I'm at home I'll just pile it all up on top of my head like a pineapple.

Re: Hair thread
I try to follow some sort of routine for taking care of curly hair. I haven't used a brush or comb in about 4 years and it generally involved spending lots of money on products to try and enhance the curls.
However the sad fact is that I can do pretty much anything to it and not make a blind bit of difference - as soon as I wash it and let it dry, it always looks the same. I cut it myself and recently have become so lazy at this that when it is in a plait for work I sometimes just chop half an inch off the end of that...as it makes absolutely no difference to how it looks anyway. Something about the curls - they just work it out. I dread to think how it might look if I straightened it though... I plait it for work to keep it neat and out of the way but I hate the way it looks, or the way it makes my whole head look. I have this weird natural ombre thing going on as well. The ends are golden blonde like they've been dyed but my roots are mousey brown... Verdict: my hair is weird |

Re: Hair thread
I shower at least once a day, which includes washing my hair. I use the cheapest shampoo I can find (usually Aldi or Lidl, because I'm worth it) and no conditioner or any of that girly nonsense. I go to a barber every four weeks (blade 1.5 on back & sides, scissors on top). I find that if I look vaguely smart, I tend to feel more confident and normal.

Re: Hair thread
I have to wash my hair every day I do skip it at times but only if i'm not leaving the house/seeing anyone.
My hair is a nightmare - the hairdresser even said although there is lots of it, it's the most fine, flyaway hair she's ever seen. It doesn't hold products very well, doesn't hold styles well, layering is totally out of the question (except mildly in a bob). I often end up tying it up but never particularly creatively as I don't know how really/lack the skill. Keeping it in a longish bob seems to be the way to go for me at present but I did love having long hair. My routine is wash, blow dry my hair upside down (very very occasionally with a bit of moose, though it can drag my hair down) and brush. Once in a blue moon condition. That's about it I've tried all sorts of products all of them are bloody useless |

Re: Hair thread
I'd never go out or have anyone who isn't direct family over without washing my hair (same for showering), but I generally don't care when I'm alone It's something I really need to fix, as having a routine would help a lot I think.
Length and styling wise, I prefer to keep it short and simple (but not so short I look like a potato), and styling is minimal just to not look too scruffy. |

Re: Hair thread
I wash it twice a week, I use a deep conditioning mask each time. I blow dry it but only because I hate having wet hair. I straighten my fringe and leave the rest. Sometimes I curl it. I'm not a hair person.

Re: Hair thread
I wash mine everyday, it gets greasy so easily, I have to avoid using most products. I rarely curl, straighten or blow dry it. Mainly because I'm so lazy I usually hide behind my hair, or have it half up and half down, or a topknot.
I haven't been to a hairdressers for years, so I just trim and dye it myself. I'm still wanting to dye it Blue, I also want to try white hair- Dragon mother style. |

Re: Hair thread
I stick a number 1 on the trimmer when it pisses me off and shave the lot off.
Once I can physically grab my hair between my finger ends..its too long and needs to go. I do keep a beard on the go, that tends to get a number 2 whenever I'm doing my head. I've got no interest in shaving (god that used to be so damn tedious) but I have to keep on top of it a little bit or I look like I belong at a bus stop rattling a mcdonalds cup. I literally have no interest in ..male..grooming, I find hair a hindrance (but I admit I've taken a liking to having a beard over the last few years) as for washing it, well its whenever I get a shower which is usually daily. |

Re: Hair thread
^ I really want to shave my hair off. I'm similar to you, i can't be doing with the hassle. I'm too old to be pissing about with styling and it's slowly receding anyway so there's no point investing time and considerations. I haven't got the balls to do it though because it's too radical and i wouldn't be able to handle comments from peeps that i know. I really wish i had gone skinhead when i was younger, like a lot of my mates did - it was a trend, if you remember, in the 90's ... well, it was down south. Meh.
As it is, my hair care routine is to cold rinse it once a week and leave to wet dry. I do have coal tar shampoo for a scalp condition (that's persisted for years and ****ing years!!) but i've used it, like, twice since i bought it .. 6-8 months ago. |
