Worse, it's not the rent but the service charge they've put up. which is really taking the piss tbh.

Maybe, though it's cheaper than most places round here and in a good location (if you like rural ish) I suspect they may end up with more of his sort - as long as they get there money I doubt they care. One of the other neighbours is already thinking of moving because of the service charge nonsense (it's increased by £40 pw can you believe ).

It's all quite complex. Out sourcing services basically. Which they said would be better value for money (haha). That and (surprise surprise) management fees.

My neighbour has taken them to tribunal, which agreed with him, but the landlord company are challenging that. I'm about to go to the CAB either tomorrow or Monday and see what they have to say, may mean I have to attempt to take them to tribunal too. *eyeroll*

Forty quid p/w though, bloody hell.

My Mum's flat and the rest of the residents (four other flats) in her building took charge of the management cos of bs costs that didn't add up. I was living in her flat at the time and, from what i recall, it just meant hoovering the hallway and stairs once in a while. I'm sure there was a bit more to it but, really, these companies will take the piss if they can get away with it.

^ that's just the increase! the full service charge is £50 odd quid.

Yeah I don't blame them, I don't think that'd work here - we've got atleast one of the four of us that couldn't give a damn , plus some of it is too do with them entering into a new fire safety framework (I really don't know the in's and out's of this) which is out of our hands .
I need to see what the CAB have to say. But yeah these companies really do take the piss

Irritating pasta types, such as Penne. Fusilli is quite clearly the supreme pasta. I think production of other types should be outlawed.

Smashing a glass shade of a lamp that Next no longer stocks

I have just emailed (with little hope) and got a reply within 10 mins! - there going to check with the merchant dept on Monday to see if there's any possibility of purchasing a replacement, which is quite good of them. 10/10 for customer service.

Yodel. Supposedly they tried to deliver my parcel yesterday but they "couldn't access the property" even though the house is just off a main road. I was in all bloody day with my mum and there was no ring of the doorbell or anything. Maybe I should check all the nearby bins and gardens just in case...

You're right, fusilli is definitely far superior.

That the small car park meant for the four flats I live in has all and sundry parked in it. My neighbour is out (hooray) so his van isn't there. So every other car neither lives here or are visiting the building.. All young 18 - 25 year old guys 6 cars and scooter.

When did I turn into Victor Meldrew? All it needs now is for my neighbour to return with a mate in a car and it'll be gridlock.

This isn't even the usual prats that park here. God knows where they've had to go.

^ I'm the same, we've complained about the parking in our car park too. It's one numbered space for everyone and some families have more than one car, so they park wherever they please

If you're really desperate you can use a sharp knife and some elbow grease.

If the knife's sharp enough strength shouldn't matter too much.

Failing that one solution might be..............

I know this sounds like I'm complaining about a good thing, but I hate it when car hire companies give me a brand new car; I'd rather have something with a few dings and dents so they won't notice if something happens whilst it's my responsibility.

It's happened to me about five times in the past year and today I was given a car with 2300km on the clock, which in hire car terms is one or two weeks of hiring - I'm probably going to double that before I return it next week, having done 400km already. At the inspection, I couldn't find one single blemish - it's not good for an anxious person, I worry about low-hanging branches, loose chippings and leaving it parked and unattended! To be fair, the guy who gave me the keys said the company doesn't worry about scratches, only dents and accident damage, so I shouldn't have any problems - and I do have an annual insurance policy to cover me for car hire deposit deductions (not that I'd ever had to claim) so I know my anxiety is misplaced.

To top it all, the car is a free upgrade from what I booked (which was already a bargain at £6 per day for a compact), so I'm going to feel even more guilty if anything happens!

When you email your uni tutor to politely ask when you might receive your essay back, it now being 2 days after the 10 working day maximum turn around and 5 days away from the hand in of another essay that's meant to be informed by the feedback, and are are told only: 'it's in hand.'

Not my bloody hands it ain't.

^When your tutor asks for your next essay, then your reply will be "Its in hand". I think an extension needs to be granted under the circumstances.

^ I'm more miffed with people who take food, especially frozen food, then find something else they'd rather have and just leave the food anywhere, so that it's not found until it's spoiled.
