Rise of Skywalker (4DX) - 7/10

Was OK but like Abrams Into Darkness to compensate for the lack of a good story and characters he relied on the film constantly going at a fast space skipping from one objective mission to the next like stages in a video game with some fan service references.

On the plus side I thought the comedic sections worked, decent acting, visually good looking and a definitive conclusion to the new trilogy.

Went to see it in 4DX with Midlife Bookworm.

Give it credit for the 4dx experience with the lighting, smoke (although crap) and constant seat movement. Would have like more water effects and still NO BUBBLES!!

As entertainment I enjoyed the film although as part of a trilogy of films feels like a sequel to The Force Awakens and ignores everything that happened in Last Jedi.

Reliant 3/10

Christian movie with a family wrestling with their faith in God after the aftermath of economic collapse of the dollar and resulting civil unrest in the US.

This just really boils down to lame scene of a handful of people rioting in the local town with shaky cam and a family surviving by camping out in the woods where most of the film is set.
Really quite a boring film overall.

Ford vs Ferrari 8.5/10

Expected to not like this given the length of about 2 and a half hours and the subject of cars that I could care less about but was a really good watch. Well written, directed and acted.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was a SYFY channel film.

Neil Breens Fateful Findings 7/10 (I guess)
Not got a clue what the story was about that just suddenly skips between story plot scenes that are not really connected with each other.
But the dialogue and some of the scenes were hilariously bad it was still fun to watch.

I found that not even bad in a way that would allow me to enjoy how bad it was, save for the last few minutes.

Lawrence of Arabia on Blu Ray (xmas present). It's my second favourite film, after Withnail and I, so an obvious 10/10.

Going to see 1917 tomorrow.

'Contagion' - 9.5/10

Tells the story of how a lethal Bat born virus, jumps species to Pigs and via Pigs, spreads to humanity.

Pretty grim , and downbeat stuff ( no car chases , explosions or macho man heroics in this). The film just follows the spread of the virus from its first case in Macao (a particular unlucky American Businesswoman played by Gweneth Paltrow) her immediate contacts over the next few days, and the the explosion of the virus around the planet, in the weeks and months that follow.

As good a movie as Ive seen in this genre, and has a horribly plausible feel to it.

If youre OCD about Germs though, DONT WATCH THIS!!!

I watched Arrival again. Still a 9 for me, despite knowing what's come. (Sort reminiscent of what does come.)

The Accountant (Ben Affleck ) 9/10

I took a chance watching this, as I'm not really a fan of Ben Affleck, but I really enjoyed this film,

Some may say it trivialises or glorifies autism, but to me it wasn't even about that,
I could relate to some of the autism stuff, but just found it a really interesting action film.

for a brief second there I thought you were describing The Butterfly Effect,
but then remembered that was Aston Kutcher as the main actor, that's actually a really good film,

have you seen Training Day with Ethan Hawke? that's really good

I think it begins with the letter D and I grade it with the letter D.
Think your talking about Predestination. I quite liked the film that goes in a pretty strange direction.

I love that film but it's one of those films that noone else has ever heard of. I really like Jon Bernthal in that because he makes Ben Affleck look really wooden in their fight scene even though Ben Affleck got all the fancy moves. Jon Bernthal should be in more stuff, his facial expressions are built for comedy films.

Watched the classic Bullitt. Worth it for the 1960s San Francisco Street scenes, and the iconic car chase scenes (even though I'm not a petrolhead) .

Remember not really liking the film or the prequel trilogy when I originally saw it but rewatching the only decent film out of the 3 it was actually a good film.

Just Mercy 8.5/10

Has an amazing statistic at the end that 1 in 9 people on death row are eventually acquitted.

Not sure what to watch next CATS (hoping its so bad its good) or Neil Breens latest film Twisted Pair. Unless another actual genuine good looking film comes out to watch.

Made less sense than Neil Breens last film Fateful Finding but without any of the weird funny scenes.

Nic Cage films have been hit or miss over the past couple of years but this is one of his better films. Like the weird Thing direction the film takes later on with good looking effect.
