Re: Self-help & inspirational audio/vids
Im 50/50 with this vid. I agree with the intentions of the vid and some ideas discussed in it, however I feel SA is a bit
oversimplfied and some other things that are spoken about in the vid. |

Too many times people seem to only state the cons of shyness, here are some pros of shyness
I'm not saying you shouldn't overcome shyness, but some common traits of a shy person aren't inferior to the common traits of a more outgoing individual, they are just different. |

I LOVE Dan Pena. Not everyones cup of tea but if you need a kick up the arse and some home truths (most people do) then hes your man. Wish he was my Mentor. I'd move mountains if this guy was on my arse every day.

Re: Self-help & inspirational audio/vids
The Highly Sensitive Person by Elaine Aron (audiobook). I'm not halfway through it yet but it's very interesting, includes a test to see if you are a HSP. 12 or above is classed as HSP. It speaks positively about our traits in a world that doesn't appreciate them.
***8220;The most long-lasting happy Indo-European cultures have always used two classes to govern themselves***8212;the warrior kings and the priestly advisers,***8221; she says. ***8220;HSPs tend to fill that adviser role. They are the writers, historians, philosophers, judges, artists, researchers, theologians, therapists, teachers, and plain conscientious citizens. What they bring to any of these roles is a tendency to think about all the possible effects of an idea.***8221; And it's about respecting the fact that you're affected easier than other people and that you need to balance it so that you're not 'out' too much, to make yourself stressed, but not 'in' too much, where you're not in the world expressing yourself. |

Re: Self-help & inspirational audio/vids
Pretty much sums up the reality of getting over SA or becoming successful. Your going to have failures your going to be embarrassed and make a fool of yourself, your gonna have to 'push' your own buttons as well as others and it will be ****ing hard.
This dude woke me up. |
