Contemplating death.....but not in a morbid way.

Death is unavoidable and my existence is meaningless anyway, like a spec of sand in an entire universe. From that perspective, nothing really matters. I live like I'm going to exist forever. Waking up late, fannying about on social media, procrastinating, acting like ive got all the time in the world. It needs to stop.

Reminding myself of my own mortality and that in the end nothing really matters, it might just set me free. Thinking about my mortality daily is something I should seek to do.

If I'm going to do something. ....I better do it now. Create the best possible life I can. Face my fears with abandonment because fook all matters in the end. The time is now.

I've just started running the bath to enjoy a relaxing soak after the first full week of work this year. It'll be ready in about ten minutes.

After that? Well, I'm pretty tired now. Maybe half an hour's worth of TV and then bed.

Looking at the time now, I'll likely have a lie-in tomorrow morning. By a 'lie in', as I don't particularly sleep well, that usually means not being up and dressed before 8am!

I've felt pretty tired this week and I'm happy it's finally the weekend...

Getting up, doing some housework and then some painting. I really don***8217;t want to do anything except stay in bed and sleep or cry but I have to try and pull myself out of this if I can.

I'm so glad I properly engaged with f/b. Shows how deceiving anxiety and negative thinking is (I've avoided it for over 3 years). I'm not interested in f/b in the sense of acquiring (lots of fake) friends and likes etc just as tool to reconnect with ppl that I genuinely like and actually know in some capacity. I do have to turn off messenger from time to time as too much real time messaging seems to exhaust my brain.

Going to bed. I like sleeping (although it’s a rarity these days), it’s the closest I can get to escaping from me and my thoughts. And if I’m alseep I can’t comfort eat either.

Well, after i finish my tea, i'm gonna set about putting an end to the flea infestation that's taken hold of our poor dog and home by hoovering, washing, tumble drying, steaming, flea spraying everywhere she puts herself. I'm also gonna have to get some shampoo and medication and treat her to a bath.. which she won't enjoy at all. Then i've got to get some dinner on for when Mum pops over later.

Booking a place on a driver experience day at the Severn valley railway, I really want to drive a class 52 and it would give me a target to work towards (something to achieve)
The only problem is if I bottle it on the day I will have lost £350

^^^ It's a damn good incentive not to bottle it, though

I had a similar thing last year, where I think the prospect of wasting so much money encouraged me not to find excuses to avoid it. I got ill right before it too, and I think that might have made me stay at home otherwise.

Maybe that's the key to not giving in to avoidance? Every time you back out of something, you lose a chunk of your savings.
