Ooooh, nice! Did you get it in your favourite colour?

I'm feeling good because I've got Saturday evenings off now.

Feeling awkward. Have had a great year and it's my birthday tomorrow. But my partner is currently sat by his gran's bedside (along with all his family) as she is taking her last breaths due to lung cancer. I've never met my own grandparents, and not really known anyone intimately who has died, so not really sure what to say to him or how to handle it. I never really got to know her, though she seemed lovely, I can't pretend I have any strong feelings about it all as I never really knew her properly.

Tried to take my mind off it by doing oodles of housework, took dog for a very long walk. I've just ordered myself a take away as I'm home alone and felt like treating myself. Seems a bit odd though considering what my partner must be going through.

Disappointed in myself.

Started the day all positive and built up the motivation to face the crowds in town to buy myself new clothes. Despite the fact that I feel very self conscious in large crowds I was fine walking around the shops... until I went into the changing rooms to try things on.

I saw myself in the mirror and instantly felt depressed. I put the clothes back and went home. To be honest I don't think this is an SA thing so you won't understand but I can't look at myself in the mirror. Every time I catch sight of myself, I feel what little motivation, energy and confidence I have completely drain away and end up in despair. I know, I'm weird.

Meh just a tad down for essentially the first difficult news for this year thats probably ganna cause hassle in a big way. It only took til the 3rd of Jan for some shit or other to happen. Hopefully its one of those situations that can be resolved without huge aggro but I aint particularly holding my breath. Still it could be worse..

I can relate to some of that Pablo, because I suffer with severe bouts of Depression. Sometimes, I think the Depression is worse than the SA because it saps away every last bit of hope until you can barely muster up enough energy and motivation to get out of bed let alone go out into the world and tackle the social issues. I agree that therapy might be able to help you with this Pablo. Why not start the New Year by making an appointment with your GP to talk about this? Also, are you taking any medication for the Depression? If you've tried anti depressants that haven't helped theres plenty of others available that might..

Anyway, you are far from alone with these feelings

Sorry to hear about your partners gran, Mamba
It must be a very difficult time for him and the family and of course awkward for you too. Sometimes I think there are no words to express adequately what you want to say to someone who has lost a loved one and giving your partner a hug and your shoulder to cry on is all that is required at times like these.

Not feeling happy or depressed, just sort of alright - which is good enough for me.

Feel like crap today, paranoid and just generally depressed as well as lonely, I try to keep upbeat the best I can but it doesn't always work. I hate feeling like this.

Thanks Mo and Wulfgar :-) Yes, I'm going on another one next Saturday so looking forward to it. Going to try and be a little more consistent if I can.

Horrible. I can't see any way I'm ever going to have a happy life. All I've done all day is lie around feeling sorry for myself. Nothing interests me, nothing excites me, I dont feel like I can do this anymore.

^Maybe time to see a doctor? If things are that bad, then there's nothing to lose by seeing one.

Yeah, I need to go before I run out of anti depressants anyway. I've just got no idea what to say to a doctor.

Cannot concentrate, or only for short bursts. 10 assignment questions have taken me 2 and 1/2 bloody hours. There not even that difficult. My mind keeps wandering and my eyes are tired.

Really tired (over bike riding in the cold may be contributing to this).

My life is empty and there is no real enjoyment for me, I don't really no the point of any of it.

to everyone feeling depressed... you aren't alone!

Feeling emotional and weepy.

I feel so blessed to have met someone who is so utterly kind and lovely (one of the nicest least selfish people I have ever known) but I feel so undeserving. I hate absolutely everything about myself and feel that he could do so very much better than me. I keep telling him this but, for now, he doesn't agree with me. I wish I could switch off these constant negative thoughts as no good can come of them
