I feel like this quite regularly, it always seems if you're polite and try to be helpful to others people just take advantage of this and screw you over for their own selfish gains.

Yes, I agree, nice people get treat badly then you're in a position where you have to stand up for yourself, which is confrontation, which is so hard for people like us. Loudmouths, banter experts even if they're nasty people, get respect, because people fear them. It's a shame people are only motivated by fear.

I feel completely alone, as usual. I can't stand this horrible feeling. I make a few friends who write to me here and there on Facebook, but that's all. I can't make any real friends, and all my attempts at finding someone as more than a friend never work. Even people here with SA mostly have a partner and friends. Most people here are teens or in their 20's, so I'm glad for this section of the forums, but I do wish there were some sub-sections and more people around nearer my age who might actually want to know me. It's impossible finding people, it really is impossible, and I don't have any choice but to give up. I'm not choosing to - I just have nowhere left to turn.

Are you able to get out at all? I joined a meetup group a few months ago and was able to make a couple of friends through that. The one I belong to is local to me and for people in their 30's/40s. Maybe you could see if there is one near you. Keep posting on here. There are lots of good people of all ages.
Thanks Nat. I can get out, yea, and can travel a little if I need to. I often look at meetup groups but never find anything close to what I'd be comfortable doing. Maybe I'm being too fussy? I'll have another look.

hth.
Thanks for the link. I have to say that the photo on that first page of a group of people sitting tightly in a group, scares the hell out of me. Oh well I have to do SOMEthing I suppose. I'll look through that page more, and I'm looking at the meetup site in more detail too.

I have a bad back since I used to weight train when I was younger. Slipped discs, the lot.

In the last 12 months I've been doing twisting and stretching exercises every morning when I get up and every night just before I go to bed. Only takes 5 minutes each time, but other than the odd twinge I've not had a problem since.

I'm feeling magnificently small and twisted. The thoughts golluming through my mind at the moment are a little vicious, a little malicious - neither lovely nor delicious. Most of them concern my extended family who are all good looking, witty and with a considerable independent income.

Old, useless and without any hope. It's that time of year again.
How much longer do I keep hoping for the impossible?
I can't carry on pretending that things are going to change.
I am too broken to be fixed. Throw me away and get a new one.

Have you sought help for your loneliness? Here's a link to a blog about loneliness, it has a support group. I haven't tried it, just thought it might be worth a read http://www.webofloneliness.com/the-l...go-join-a-club

I'm 37, but only for another hour or so...
The usual time to reflect back on my life, realise how utterly pointless and broken it all was and hunt for the nearest, strongest alcoholic drink in the building...

@MissRibble
I think it is to do with power. For almost all of human history women have been considered as less than men in society. Only suitable for child bearing and cleaning up after the men. The last hundred years have proved this wrong time and time again and now women are advancing at a rate that is leaving many men behind. A number of men now find themselves in a world where they don't have the power anymore and I think they lash out in some strange attempt to reclaim it.
