I saved the picture and used from file, is that how everyone else would do it?

^ You can do it that way (that's usually how I do it), or you can right click on the image to open in a new tab and/or copy the URL, which you then paste into the box in the user cp.

That's also pretty much how you post picture on here too. You get the link for the image and post it between image tags -> [img]www.putyourreallinkhere.com[/img]
