Re: Storage heaters
Today is the first day that I've felt actually cold. It hit me hard.
So far I haven't put the heating on, but it's tempting to! I'm layering up in bed and have a microwave animal- I can't work out which animals it supposed to be! Usually there's a cat on my bed for extra warmth but she's decided to go out for the night. |

Re: Storage heaters
I put my cats' electric blanket on at the weekend, they've been loving it.
I had my oil-filled electric radiator on in my bedroom the last couple of nights, although it barely came on so I guess it wasn't too cold. |

Re: Storage heaters
Our heating is controlled by an app called tado it does its own thing if the temperature drops below a certain level it comes on. Each room is a separate zone. Supposedly it should be cheap to run. It was the only system I could find compatible with our boiler that was modulating, daft that we manufacture boilers that are more efficient if sold in Europe than at home.

Re: Storage heaters
I did have to pop the heating on for an hour or two a couple of times in the last two or three days, if it was Sunday there was the ground frost then that was the first time. I've lost track now. Usually a little burst of it being on here and there works until it's full winter and bitter, it's off at night though unless it's below freezing but even then it's just set to frost protection. I actually like sleeping with a window open unless it gets to just above freezing or lower.
