Anyway, 27/30.
It's encouraging to see that at least a few people on the site are at a point where they feel their self-esteem is better than it was.
I don't take the test that seriously really, but it does point to the improvements I've made over a long time. Funny enough, I don't even see the shift as being massive, although I am well aware of the efforts required to make that shift.

I've not gone from self-hatred to being full of self-love. I just managed to realise that in the scheme of things I'm ok. Could be a lot better, and could be a lot worse. Have some qualities, yet plenty of faults too. I think I just found my middle ground where I don't crush myself because of my faults and I don't think I'm anything special if I manage to get some things right. That sort of leaves me with a more realistic self-view and feeling ok in my own skin.

I find that SA and the lack of confidence and self-esteem that goes with it leads to a very distorted and inaccurate self-view. It is all too easy to see every single fault we have, yet see us oblivious to our qualities. Our reality lies somewhere in between the two. Finding that middle ground, recognising it and building on it can take us a long way towards becoming ok with who we are. I don't think I suddenly developed qualities and banished my faults. I think I just recognised that I (like all of us) have both and always will have. Basically, I realised that you don't have to be perfect to be ok.

13/30

Lower than I thought it'd be. I'm quite ok with who I am as a person these days, but I don't feel I've achieved much professionally which is what I had in mind when taking it.

Got 0/30. Thought I must've been exaggerating to get a perfect 0. Tried again but this time being a bit kinder to myself. 2/30.

Not convinced by that test, no matter how well it's regarded, it's too black and white. To have any 'scientific' validity there would need to be more middle ground options rather than basically 'agree' or 'disagree', as per that test.
