Default What I did today - for small achievements and cheers

This thread is meant for the small or big everyday achievements. Sometimes the smallest steps are the hardest to do, so lets give ourselves a pat on the back for everything we managed to do today! Nothing is too insignificant here, everything counts.

This is meant as a place for positive thoughts and inspiration, for cheering and applauding each other, not so much for posts about having achieved nothing and feeling useless.

If you haven't achieved anything today, you can always try again tomorrow!

Great idea

I woke up feeling really low today and wanted to just stay in bed but I pushed myself to get up and shower and tidy through the flat

Well done everyone

This week I attended an interview with 3 interviewers and got the job. Today I made an effort to chat to the man putting our central heating system in, even made him tea as well.

I replied to someone who answered my pen pal ad even though I'm terrified of it turning out to be a complete disaster.

got out of bed and took bath
vacuumed
cleaned bath and kitchen
did some laundry

that's more than I've done the whole week . Coping with housework has become more and more of a problem. So yay!

Well done kit' it's hard work, so WELL DONE!
I quite like cleaning things but i've always heard people hating it. I find doing the dishes quite theraputic as it happens. But when i'm depressed i can't be bothered doing anything.

What i did today.... i cleaned my bedroom.

I went to the dentist this morning for the first time in about 10 years, which was quite an achievement for me . Unfortunately, no doubt as a result of the aforementioned dentist avoidance, one of my teeth is so decayed I now have to go to hospital to have it removed.

Also I went to a splendid SAUK meet today!

I went to my SA group even though I was running late (got there 1/2 hour late), read out an article on acceptance in front of 18 people and then stayed at the pub for a few hours after chatting to people

It's not something run on SA-UK but it's linked as my homepage on my profile if anyone is interested, it's a great group

That's great! I used to make jokes, too, everytime I was given a compliment. It wasn't easy to finally accept compliments with a smile and be actually happy about them, but a) people start to make compliments more often when received with a thanks and a smile, b) its becoming more fun making compliments in return and c) it can be such a great boost! So

you bet I will. one day I will zing the back of the head I am actually aiming for.

Oh - and another thing I did - I sat in the coffee shop without any props - no book, no paper, didn't even fiddle with my mobile. Just sat there, drinking my coffee and looking around. Looking at the other people there - not staring in a creepy way lawl! Just looking around. So calm I was. I think I am starting to really kick this thing in the butt!

^Whatever it exactly means... congratulations

Just came back home after doing childcare and foodshopping. I am pretty exhausted now but glad that I somehow still manage to do that job. It's only once or twice a week for three hours, but for the last few weeks it has become even harder for me not to quit. So every week I'm still hanging in there is a success for me, because it means something inside me is still fighting against letting everything slip away.

Treated myself to a bunch of flowers that are now standing on my bedside table, a luxury but looking at them makes me happy, so that's a good thing, too.

great! It's good to have goals and it sounds like you want to go for them

I went to dance class in the morning. Though it was horrible in many different ways I went home with a new found determination to a)get a grip again on my diet (too much chocolate/binge eating the last couple of weeks, cos feeling crappy), b) stop dehydrating myself and shove myself more water down the throat, c) find a way to get in shape again and d) I want that feeling of the dance studio, the barre as my comfort zone back. I miss it so much.

a) and b) accomplished for today , c) is a huge problem. I'll try to figure something out though. d) will come when c) is achieved.

On my way home while sitting in the car at some red lights I exchanged a few words with a man in a car next to me. I was friendly (!!!), I didn't pull out my rifle gun though he was kind of flirty. So yay for not being on the evening news!

I asked two women if they wanted their picture taken together in front of the Mona Lisa.

Then I ran off with their camera.

Only joking. Or am I.......
