Popped down to Argos to pick up some headphones, the wind has made my hair a wreck and I look pretty bad.
Get there, go in and immediately accosted, they seem to be overstaffed so they immediately help.
We went to the counter, I gave her the code and she got my headphones. Yay me but I'm generally okay with that kinda thing.

So I get outside, pop them in my ears and...bam, left ear bud isn't working. My nightmare, returning faulty goods.
So I go back, explain the situation and they have to test them, so being Bluetooth they have to physically listen to what I'm listening to, which luckily is Romesh Ranganathan and he's brilliant.
She nods, agrees it's broken and offers to get me a replacement one...they don't have one.
So she has to look through for an alternative, which she finds, I agree it's fine and we have to go to the till so she can process it and process my excess refund.
Then my card won't take the money back, then I have to give them my email to process the new receipt.
Being trans, my voice isn't great, but I do it anyway, so then I stand there and wait for my headphones.

Very VERY mild nervousness, no anxiety spike, no utter panic.
I think I'm doing so much better than I was years ago.

I confronted my boss through WhatsApp about something he did that I was not okay with. I’m waiting to see how this goes.

That's really good! Telling your boss you aren't happy is actually a majorly brave thing to do. But I think most bosses want to adjust and I hope it went well

^ I really like the second one. Great detail around the cat's edges, and the moon and space dust has nice shading. Beautiful.

I think maybe the second one, too :D

been re-rendering my garage wall recently, been putting it off and dreading it
had to strip it all back to base layer then carefully fill it as and when weather permitted and I had the enthusiasm to tackle it,

I have quite loud neighbours who are often out in their garden talking loudly, playing music and having BBQ's,

fair enough,.. good on them,.
but I always found it very off-putting having them so close and it often puts me off going out in my garden for any reason
(we have very low fences here , waist height basically, so you see and hear everything.)

last night I had an idea,. something I haven't done for years is listen to music and wear headphones,.
well, it was a bit of a revelation for me,.. I totally loved the music and really got into it,
and my neighbours were a distant memory,
I just used spotify on my mobile and my wi-fi was good enough to keep me connected,
I have quite eclectic tastes in music, but I used to be quite passionate about my music too,
so I was really getting into my groove with it and got my mojo back to an extent, just listening to it.

think this'll be the way forward for me now if I'm out in my garden.

oh,. done a decent job of the rendering too,

I sometimes feel bad posting in here as I would say my SA was 10% of what it was so do feel free if it's genuinely annoying/upsetting to tell me and I'll curb it back.

Today (I'm working nights) I woke up at 3pm. I was very hungry and there's a shop ten minutes walk away.
Because I'm in a hotel because of my job, I always check my cardkey before I leave (because they constantly go down) and it flashed red meaning it's not working.
There was a part of me that said "if you go to the shop you'll have to go to reception afterwards and explain your card isn't working (fifth time this week) whilst looking pretty tough.

I genuinely contemplated causing myself suffering because I was a little anxious about talking to a receptionist...again.

I sat there debating for fifteen minutes before saying "f it, I'm hungry"

Of course the receptionist was fine and polite as expected, gave me the old "has it been near your phone?" speel they always give (it was on the side all day since I got back) i laughed and said "it always happens"
Maybe she DID judge me afterwards, maybe she thought "hey that man was pretending to be a woman" but it doesn't matter. I'm never going to see her again and even if she tells others, I don't know them and they don't know me so who cares :D

There's nothing annoying and upsetting about your posts MissKatie. I can relate a lot to this one. I'm confident nowadays when talking to receptionists, but it used to paralyse me.
Well done! I'm feeling a bit peckish myself. I hope you found something nice to eat

Hotel room food (no expenses) is limited. If you like pot noodles you're laughing lol

On Tuesday I managed to get through a Zoom meeting that lasted over 90 minutes with some guy from a car dealership who initially said he "just wanted to confirm some details" but it quickly became clear that it was actually a massive upselling attempt. He kept going on and on about all these different service plans and extras and things that I didn't really understand but knew he was just trying to make money so I kept saying no. At one point I had to take a break so I said I wanted to discuss things with my husband (I don't have a husband, I stood just off camera feeling awful) but from that point on every time he showed me a video advertising something else he'd get to the end and then say he'll give me a few minutes to discuss that particular thing with my fictional husband, so the whole process took way longer than it needed to as each time I would stand up and move to the side of the room and wait for a while before coming back and saying no. So glad it's over, I haaaaated it

Now I'm confused lol
I work in a shop but I also shop outside of that shop.

You can buy things up until 10pm in most stores but since I get refused red bull so often, I usually go to a shop close to my hotel to try to get it in the morning for that night lol

Not something I've particularly done today but after two years of laser treatment, my facial hair is starting to get hard to shave after 24 hours without shaving

This is the culmination of several clinic sessions and home treatments (both of which are extremely painful)
My facial hair has been extremely stubborn but there's finally some movement on this front.

My goal is to not have to shave at all in 24 hours and for there to be no roots showing.

Not sure if this should be in here, but it's made me pleased

Well done for going through it! The pain of those zaps is quite something.

I'm six months or so into laser and gosh is the hair stubborn. There's some change but I think it will probably take a couple of years too.

It's so frustrating as I know people who went three times and were basically hair free.
They admitted they couldn't grow a beard to fit in beforehand whereas I, as described by my Muslim friend Mo, "could fit in with the Taliban" at one point lol

I'll get there, you'll get there

I picked up my first car yesterday I'm a very anxious driver so really was very nervous about it, and even though the journey home was just a few minutes I was panicking the whole time (I don't really like to be on my own in a car at all and I haven't driven in years). Also, I accidentally left the handbrake on when I was leaving the dealer car park and didn't realise until I was almost out (you'd think the red warning light would have been a clue, but no). I blame the man who handed me the keys, since he was stood there watching me the whole time and I wanted to take a few minutes to get comfortable with where everything was, but felt pressured by his presence. Also, even though I spent 15 minutes yesterday checking that everything was okay before I went to bed, I noticed this morning I'd accidentally left a window open all night I was kind of excited before, but now there's just a feeling of dread since I know it's going to take a very long time to get comfortable with it, but I know I need to persist because I think it would almost definitely improve my life.

Good for you Jen! I'm sure in a week or so you'll feel like it's second nature.
I myself didn't buy a car until about a year after passing my test and felt stressed and anxious whilst I got back into the habit of driving. At first I just tried to take it out at times where traffic was calmer in the evenings and avoided built up areas. If you live anywhere near a supermarket with a big car park, those type of places are good to have a play about.
