Thanks Managed to get a wee few hours sleep, now just got up to find an email saying they'd had to cancel anyway. Relief!

I get that sometimes. I get that thing where it feels like there's a malevolent evil presence just out of sight in the room and it's going to do something extremely nasty to me. Can even speak when it happens. It's a frightening experience.

Oooooh another one! ello there! I love my bed and sleep, but worry over work and an overly busy head makes sleep tricky. However I'm currently awake due to a cat conspiracy as one of em clawed my feet and the other ran across the bed Seriously not amused! I've tried to make a wee den with spare pillows and my dressing gown for Poppy to lie on so that she'll stop arsing about and go to sleep!

Ive not been sleeping well since I moved house. Doesn't help that it is virtually next to a busy road with traffic on and off all through the night. Don't think I have had a decent night sleep since I moved here. Feel restless, unsettled and on edge when I am here which doesn't help. Might try lavender oil see if that helps. If not, will have to move yet again to a quieter area :-( I guess living with cats makes up for it though

^ How long have you lived there Silver? Often people adjust to noise. When I lived in zone 2 in London for a while I couldn't sleep at first because there were constant police car sirens all night. After a while I got used to it. Can you sound proof the windows at all, are they double glazed?

I'm going through a bout of insomnia at the moment. My mind just won't switch off at night. Yesterday I was SO tired from lack of sleep but still couldn't sleep last night! There are particular obsessive thoughts I tend to get during insomnia, my current one is the 'let's think about just how rubbish I am in every possibly way' insomnia. It's better than the 'let's think about death and a lack of afterlife' insomnia I sometimes get though so it could be worse

I've been sleeping surprisingly well recently. There are still some days where I don't get to sleep until 3am, but I've recently become much more relaxed at nights. I'm still terrible at waking up, though.

That sounds awful. I hope you start getting used to your surroundings or find ways of managing the situation. On the plus side, cats are awesome and your predicament allows you to post in this thread!

A viable alternative is to come here and offload, or post mind-numbing drivel and you'd fit right in! Hope you're sleeping soundly right now!

Hey, better to start late than not at all! You need a furry four-legged feline alarm. They don't take 'no' for an answer!

There's a rampant dawn chorus going on, which is nice but it's not helping me sleep...

Had yet another bad night sleep last night and am struggling a bit today. Had a massive cry this morning so now my eyes are stinging. Luckily Im alone in the office so no one has noticed. Not sure how you all remain so cheerful not being able to sleep....its making me feel like crap. Anyone got any ideas on how to feel less tense and be able to relax more?

I already am x. Had a good night, but didn't need the last twenty minutes or so. My fault for stopping off to get a bag of chips.

Had a bad night and been awake since 3am. Couldn't get back to sleep so I'm now sat in the garden eating cheese!!! Don't know why. Alarm going off soon and I'm now thinking about my 8hr shift at work and how tired I'll be for the rest of the day. Sigh!

Night time yuckiness is winning. Feeling sick and panicky at the thought of going into work tomorrow :-/ trying to distract myself from these thoughts, but my feeble brain will not be distracted
