Default Star Trek - best to worst character list

I was watching an old episode of Star Trek the Next Generation earlier, and was reminded how much I disliked Reiker, such a pompous ass.
So here's my selection for best and worst character from any Star Trek series or film.

best - The Doctor (Emergency Medical Hologram) from S T Voyager
worst - William Riker - First officer - S T Next Generation

Now you add your candidate(s) to the list and arrange in your order of preference. Reasons, insults and Character assassinations welcome.

best- Data because I had a small crush on him.
worst- Seven of 9, I mean what was the point? Tall blonde in tight spandex... I'd rather not.

Best - Garak. Although only a bit part player at first he ended DS-9 as almost a regular. By far the most fun and complex character in any Star Trek series ever.

Worse - Wesley (who else?!). I was so glad they cut him from the final TNG film! A close 2nd - Odo. Need i say more?!?!

Special Mention - Any character that Jeffrey Combs played. The guy is a legend!

Best: I'll go with Garak on that one, one of my absolute favourites with Picard coming a close second and Reed third.

Worse: I'd probably say Woof (Worf), only because his Klingon mysticism irritates me a tad. Otherwise i have no problem with any of the characters.

Best: Reg Barclay, the only one who resembles a human being
Worse: Worf's son, an even more annoying brat than Wesley

best: picard, data, kirk for the hilarity

worst: wesley obviously, troi, paris, beverly crusher, laforge, harry kim, sisko, chakotay, Q

i kind of like getting pissed off with the lame characters, it's part of the charm.

there's plenty to find tedious about the portrayal of seven (surely heels and an inch thick layer of foundation should be "irrelevent"?), but i did develop a soft spot for her, particularly after she utterly humiliated harry kim after he tried to flirt with her. i enjoyed the way she upset everyone, what with how the ship was full of bland simpering morons. she lost my support after getting together with chakotay though. how predictable and disgusting.

Best: Chekov - I like how ridiculous he is when he gets some screen time, he's always a little bit creepy but in a really childish way, especially with that daft accent. In one series he even sports the most ludicrous beatles wig i've ever seen.

Worst : Troi - I hate her grating intution, the epsiode where she beats Data at chess and then told him it was because of her insticts annoyed the hell out of me. There was just something so wrong about that, along with her bad eighties hair.

Something annoyed me about the DS9 version of Alexander, he seemed more weak then he would otherwise be. Trouble is the whole concept of Klingons grates me a little because it makes me think of the Sci Fi convention geeks dressing up as Klingons, being fluent in Klingon and acting tougher then they actually probably are but maybe that's just my paranoia talking.

Quark - his unshamedly greedy, self-serving nature just makes me laugh, but caring good guy despite his best efforts.
Worf - so self-righteous and a complete fruit cake but with a heart of gold underneath, and unwittingly comical.
Picard - just the captain every starship should have.
Seven of nine - for so many reasons

The worst:

Odo (ius) - that sanctamonius *****, I'd like to put the nut on him. Just leave Quark alone!
Janeway - eeurrrrrr, her gratey gratey voice just bugged the hell out of me and her silly bufooned hair.
Wesley - ah poor lad, I don't got nothing against him actually, he's just a weak character.

Nobody liked or disliked the characters from Enterprise?

My favorite: Dr. Phlox - nothing fazes him - http://www.startrek.com/startrek/vie...r/1122660.html

A close second: Ensign Sato - shy, lacking in confidence - but proves herself when called upon - http://www.startrek.com/startrek/vie...r/1122654.html

A close third: Data

I forgot about Phlox actually, he's a pretty good character.
