I have mixed opinions on the Winter Olympics, its just there's so many weird 'sports' in it, and quite a few time trial sports where its difficult to decipher who's any good cause every run looks the same. I'll watch it when Team GB are involved and I'm looking forward to the ice hockey, but other than that, I can't say I'm as excited as I would be for the Summer Olympics or World Cup.

Clare Bolding is broadcasting from Sochi. Do you think the Russian's know she's gay? Actually do you think the Russian's know she's a she?

Columbo or Winter Olympics?

Columbo. I'll be gettin on WO highlights show tonight though.
WO is like watching darts, I wouldnt purposely tune in to watch it live but when I do im glued to the screen. I find it strangely comforting, an almost zen like experience. lol

Tbh I think most of the Winter Olympic sports were devised by someone on something. I mean who on earth came up with the skeleton bob, a sport in which a person goes head first on a sled down a course at 90 mph, its madness!

They do actually, though I have no idea what its going to be like, surely we won't see one-legged skiers?!

Watched the Luge earlier on, turned off after 5 minutes when realising every run is exactly the same give or take a few 1000ths of a second. Its entertaining the first few times thinking 'Wow look at the speed they're going ' But after a few competitors its just gets boring.

Yeah they do. And like the main version its not as popular as its summer counterpart.
Ive never been a great lover of the Winter Olympics as never been a great fan of skiing, sliding on giant tea trays or arctic lawn bowls (Curling) but from what Ive heard this is the best British team weve ever produced and could come home with our best ever medal haul so may keep in touch with how were doing. Plus my workmates in Sochi for the duration as shes a big fan of snowboarding so will be watching those ebents to see if I can catch a glimpse of her in the crowd. Providing shes not stuck in some Russian Gulag already seeing as shes a lesbian.

Fantastic!

I also loved the bit where one boarder had to scramble back up the slope at the start

Just saw her after she found out she got the Bronze and the moment when her parents turned up halfway through the interview, its lovely to see and it makes great tv, but maybe its just me, but I can't help feel a bit nosey as a viewer getting to see such a private moment and the interviewer holding the microphone to record the conversation between her and her mother.

This picture has been posted everywhere in the past hour!

I'm not by and large a sports person, but I quite enjoy the Winter Olympics. It's very skilled sports I'm not used to seeing, and the landscape is beautiful in those skiing events.

I don't love the winter Olympics to the same degree as I do the summer ones, but it's still great to watch. Keeps me busy until the world cup at least!
