Default Got my 1st appointment...

A few months ago i had some 'generic' talking therapy ... was just councelling ...

Didn't really work for me - never seemed focussed or directed at anything plus the councellor was moving offices and had vacation time so the appointments were anywhere from 1 week to 5 weeks apart .... in the end a migraine made me forget an appointment and i was just discharged.

I referred myself to a new provider in our area (Insight Healthcare) for more CBT approach therapy.

1st appointment just came through for next week.
Not sure what to expect.... going to try and focus on a couple of specific things this time around what's holding me back from swimming and socialising

Low mood will continue as is .... has its good days and bad days ... found myself the other day idly thinking about death again .... creeps up on you (the thoughts) .... about the 4th time this has happened but i recognise it and don't dwell on it ...

I'd had a break in the 5htp and other stuff i've been trying (Theanine mostly) as i'd read to give your body a break from it from time to time.... might start again tonight

Could be the weather too ...

CBT is very structured, scripted and goal-orientated. It is designed to tackle specific issues, and if you are able to change the way you think and process information, it could work for you. I personally didn't get on with it because I prefer something less ordered and more free flowing.
