Default hello

hello

mum of 3 suffer with major anxiety have done for a number of years. my husband is very supportive, hope to get some help soon. my family not supportive especially mum who thinks i make it up and tells me i am a waste of space.
im 38 now and this is becoming unbearable, my life is so controlled by it. i just joined basically so i can vent to people who understand.

Hi there I'm pretty new to the site aswell.

I totally understand what you said about family as I have the same problem. They can't quite understand what is happening to me so they tell me I am a useless wuss etc.

I'm sure we will both find friends on here!!!

Hi there

I don't go near my parents anymore as they they drive me to absolute despair within minutes. They are both socially anxious, depressed and drink to deal with it-but my dad took all his bitterness out on us children, and if i go around there he starts on me. Sometimes i think people just have to let go. People think biological ties are important because thats what they've been led to believe, and that bonding has been important to survival-in my nana's day i'd have been sent to the work house or more likely some institution! but thankfully now noone is truly stuck with anyone. If the people around you make you worse, you've somehow got to let go. The bugger is, as a socially anxious person building new relationships. So one can sometimes think 'it's better the devil you know..' it's a tough call man, a tough call!

thanks to everyone for eing so kind. and welcoming. i think that your right staying away from the people that make you feel so bad. its what i have been doing and getting on fine.
rellay felt bad yesterday but feeling fine today
