I find it impossible to care about what happens to my body once I'm dead. I'd be mortified if any real effort or expense went towards disposing of me, if I wouldn't already be, er, mortified.

Although if I had to choose, I wouldn't mind being draped over a fence in a layby.

I saw this really cool thing where you can become a tree. I'd quite like that. But whatever people chose to do. Is this something people plan then?

I’m not sure. I always figured I’d favour cremation. I am terrified of spiders, after all! I also don’t fancy being dug up and put in a museum some day. I always found that pretty distasteful even if they are mummies. I’m not sure I fancy being buried alone but I also don’t love sleeping bedside someone so a shared plot may just drive me insane. Decisions, decisions.

How does that work? Do they mix your ashes with seed mix? But what kind of tree would you want to be? Asking life’s big questions.

I hope whoever is responsible for disposing of my body doesn't make a decision about how they do it based on what they believe I wanted, but I suppose even if they do it doesn't matter.

Speaking of anxieties, I find it ironic and funny how some of us don't fear death but fear social situation/events like a party!

you can pre-pay for your own funeral or cremation or whatever,
that way, nobody is left having to stump up money for it or have to go through the hassles of having to organise it,

if you 'leave your body to science' you don't need to pay for it,
but I think it can be a bit of a faff to organise,

I was thinking about this the other day,..
I hate flying and am always very fearful and anxious about it,.. every little sensation freaks me out,
I had to fly twice in the last week and was very shaky about it both coming and going.
but, then I realised.. the worst has already happened,
I have been born, and of course now I will certainly die,
it is the only sure thing in life, that you will certainly die.
and then, it seemed quite silly to only fear certain things, (like flying) when obviously death is 100% certain.

I think it's probably quite good in a way to have this 100% certainty alive and active in your mind when you go about your day making decisions and such.

Perhaps this is the answer to world hunger. All this lovely meat being burnt or buried, wasted. Let's cook this unlimited supply up and serve it daily to those on means tested benefits for a nominal fee. (or free?)

^^ Is it actually death that worries you about flying though? Isn't it more the specific kind of suffering that might precede death from a plane crash? I know my dislike of it doesn't come from a worry about dying - it's comes from worry (however irrational) about falling from the sky and dying.

yeah, definitely dying I'm afraid,

I can often be a bit of a mad driver and take chances in other things,
I have done a lot of mountain climbing and rock scrambling over the years,
plus drug-taking too for a good few years,
so, I don't think necessarily that I have a risk-averse nature or avoid possibly injury-prone or reckless activities?
I think I just know that whatever goes wrong at 34,000 feet is probably going to mean certain death.

although, it would be mercifully quick
