Living in the countryside I take my bike out too. I also find that walking my friends dog gives me company and she's a good character to be around. I also think about the difficulties some of my learners clients have as some of them have life threatening illnesses, diseases, and reduced life expectancies and I thank God for the positives in my life. I shop a lot - retail therapy is very good but short lived!
I cook which I enjoy. I used to be a chef and I miss the trade. I like to listen to music and I make sure that it's of a positive type, never any tearjerkers. The few friends I do have are all upbeat which helps.

Doing some sort of craft. The lastest distraction is making my own dreamcatcher.
However if feeling down is accompanied with a lack of motivation then it's dark chocolate and something stupid to watch on tv. Something like Jackass will usually do it.

I paint, and then I get sad again when I realise I can't paint, so I paint, and so the cycle continues...

I put something like Father Ted, Red Dwarf, a Top Gear special or various other programmes that will definitely make me laugh on the Tele.

Someone said jackass! Yes that's on my emergency program list as well

If I would rather escape the world than laugh I will put some Sci-Fi on (star trek!) or find an anime to watch. Only just started to get into anime after I found it on Netflix, it's great! Finished watching Attack on Titan and now watching Death Note.

Er, so, yeah, some Tele usually helps for me.

I eat, watch TV, and play video games. I have a digital piano propped up in the corner which I really want to learn how to play but I've got nowhere to put it right now.

I've always loved the idea of doing something crafty but it's usually too expensive, I live with my mum who despises mess, and I don't have the space to do crafty stuff.

I try and engage in something I either enjoy or think will help.

1. Dancing to music in my living room.
2. Messaging with a friend.
3. Blogging
4. Eat chocolate.
5. Get lost in a good book.
6. Write lists of future goals or things I should show gratitude for.
7. Eat a good curry.
8. Pour a glass of wine.
9. Engage in something creative.
10. Go for a walk.

I have to be honest... nothing healthy seems to help me nowadays... I have lost interest in everything. Its like nothing seems worth the effort for some reason its really annoying that I cant seem to snap out of this dark mood.

I remembered something else I do thanks to jk90s avatar. I go into the loft room and gaze at the stars :-) Shame about the light pollution though. I wish they would turn the lights off for a bit during the night.

Yes, I used to enjoy atronomy also, but hated living in London due to the light pollution. I remember trying to spot the planets and being so facinated by everything in space.

Yes the light pollution where I am (Near Manchester) is shocking but I would imagine its even worse in London. You can't really see much. I would like to see a truly dark sky and experience that. Top of the Andes or Antarctica would be best

I tend to listen to music videos on YouTube, put on my headphones and crank the volume up. I'm doing this most days at the moment and have been for some time…

I also watch one particular person who livestreams on Twitch on Thursday-Sunday evenings. That tends to take my mind off a lot of my problems for a few hours at least…

I don't really watch a lot of TV these days, but I usually have a multitude of pre-recorded shows on my Sky Plus box – so I can skip all the adverts. To give you an idea of how much I keep on there, I currently only have about 30% of spare space left!

I also enjoy walking but as a sufferer of Arthritis, I have to moderate what I do because whilst exercise is very good, too much of it can trigger it off. Over Saturday and Sundays (when I’m not working), I try and aim for a minimum of 6000 steps – so I have a 12,000 total target over the weekend. Over the past 12-18 months, it's helped me lose well over a stone in weight purely by doing that alone.

Google random stuff, YouTube, Boxsets, PlayStation, playing with my dogs (not a euphemism)
Anything that will work really, going through a spell where I don't have the concentration for the PlayStation or the boxsets but I plod on regardless.
Oh aye , and the odd strawberry tart doesn't go amiss either.

Walk/play with the dog, sleep, watch movies, feed the ducks. I try to do other stuff but those give me the most joy.

Buying stuff for house like girly soft furnishing such as curtains and cushions and lashings and Lashings of rose wine! Although it has the opposite effect the next day but f**k it!

You are depressed. I have been there and it's not a good place. Please go to your doctors and tell him what you've told us.

I have music to fall back on (and quite a dabhand at craft when I'm focused) so I'm thankful for that being an instrumentalist too and apparently quite good at it.

Also walks in the spring weather and nice comfort food in for us both.

Hope ur gtg on better with your ma gomen.

Look at pictures of cute animals, listen to miserable and/or loud and aggressive music, remind myself that people are mostly terrible anyway, so it's not such a bad thing being alone (and then beat myself up for being such a misanthrope and a pessimist. That bit doesn't help cheer me up). Get drunk enough to like myself. In no particluar order.

But you will wake up after sleeping !!!

I have tried to start writing down my dreams, but I keep forgetting to do it or I forget the dream before writing so I stop doing it. Also in the morning I really don't like getting out of bed so writing down dreams is the last thing on my mind. I guess you prefer the dream world ?
