Default your biggest achievements in 2015

doesn't matter if they are related to SA or not.

1. still with my amazing girl. had a few fights along the way but nothing ever serious.

2. gained all around confidence in general. I find myself doing random small talk to people without even thinking.

3. standing up to my bosses at work, asking them why we are being treated like mugs all the time.

4. man beard lol

Well I finally got my wisdom teeth removed. That was a load of hassle I won't have to worry about again.
Er, can't think of anything else... That's my 2015 in total. Go me.

Hmm most of my major plans are for 2016 (fingers crossed)

2015
Good year of counselling which has had a progressive effect.
Lost (almost) a stone in weight since October.
Got stuck into a volunteering job.
Gained a few qualifications.
Attempted new things.

I hope you don't mind me saying Nat but the progress you've made has been amazing You provide a lot of inspiration around here by continuing to push yourself.

2015 has been hell for me but ironically I have made the most progress this year. I'm trying to be positive so I'll list my achievements.
  • Told my family about my anxiety
  • Did a fair bit of solo travel with no problems
  • Met three people from SAUK
  • Drove on some major roads by myself
  • No longer feel like everyone's watching me when I go out alone
  • Had my first relationship
  • More confident in social situations
  • Met a great friend

1 -- Rented a flat above a shop

2 -- Cut my hair

3 -- Got a job

Still, I'll never get it right. When I'm laying in bed at night watching the encroaching four walls. If I called my bluff (preparing and drinking a special cocktail I call "Dignitas") I could end it all.

Yeah.

I wanna live like normal people. I wanna do whatever normal people do.

Been a little different this year.

Began the year by starting to recover from a breakdown.
Started joining a few clubs
Joined a Buddhist meditation group
Made a couple of cool mates from this site
Continued building knowledge of conditions I suffer from
Doing some temping
Been on some dates

Just trying to keep chipping away at things. Still get lonely. Perhaps I always will.

Taught myself to unicycle. Well, I can do about 200m without injuring myself but I hope to improve next year.

Wish I could say I'd improved my mental state but perhaps 2016 will be a better year for me. Sometimes I think some form of acceptance might be better for me. I did get in touch with an old friend but I'm already struggling meeting the friendship demands. At least it's something though :-)

Well done to you all :-) x 100

Good reading people's achievements.
My funniest and quirkiest one was simply staying in a caravan on my own. I wanted years to do that.
And December I got through something I'd never thought I'd do.
Also also further progress with car, driving further, and a good sort of road journey. Ironically, may decide to stop driving next year, to save money. But will see how much left in her. (Car)

- Just remembered why I don't like doing this. Big up one year, then you get deflated the next. It's just continued work. And work. And see what happens.

I met someone off SAUK for the first time.
I went to a group therapy course for the first time.

That's about it though, the motivation to do SA combating things just isn't there these days tbh.

  • Continued to make progress, socially, as a result of my job. I can say, I think, that at work I no longer have social anxiety. I can deal with customers, make phone calls, and seem to be accepted and actually liked by everyone else there. Considering I barely left the house before getting this job, and I'd have considered my anxiety fairly severe, a few years ago the idea of things turning out this way was unthinkable. But... it's happened, even if I don't quite understand how!
  • Went out on a date with someone I didn't know too well. I surprised myself by going and handling it well, considering I'd never really been on a 'date' as such before. Again, didn't think this was something I'd be capable of.
  • Started building up something really quite great with someone I've known for a couple of years but only started to get close to during the last few months of the year. It's not easy, given my insecurities, but I feel like this person is worth me trying for. The best thing is that it's been surprisingly easy for me to open up about things I'd be mortified to tell anyone else. And apparently likewise with him. I don't think I'd felt this kind of chemistry with someone before and the whole feeling is both nice and exciting.
  • Smuggled a cat into the house that I found as a stray at work, and managed to worm my way into keeping her :3
  • Perhaps this last doesn't count, as it's not a concrete achievement as such. But in general, I just feel like last year I've made mental progress in that I no longer feel certain things are necessarily unobtainable for me. For example, for years I've been putting off learning to drive and considering finding a better paying job, but finally last year I started to think more seriously about actually getting out there and accomplishing these goals. And that's a new thing. For the first time I feel like, though it won't be easy, I could get some of these things done this year, finally.
