^^^^ I don't actually have a specific doctor. The surgery I'm registered with just give you an appointment with whoever's available. Which is weird that they don't really know you, but I guess they don't anyway. I've never had an appointment there as I joined at the height of lockdown and they weren't doing on-site registrations.

I live around 3.5 hours' drive from my parents now. Because of that I've only been seeing them every 6 weeks or so (since we've been able to) for the weekend.

I've lost a few family members the past few years and I can't help but worry about my parents and the fact that they won't be around forever. So the future prospect of such infrequent visits plays on my mind a lot. 'What if there are less than 100 times left that I'll see them?' That sort of thing.

I talk to my mum most days on FaceTime for a fair while, but it's not the same.

I like where I live now in every other respect but this.

There was going to be a question about all this but I'm not sure what it was now.

^ Mine wouldn't any time soon. Part of the reason they're so far away now is because I moved 2.5 hours away and they then moved about an 1.5 hours away from where they used to be. And I don't think they'll be giving up their pretty seaside town anytime soon (and I really don't blame 'em).

Thank gawd for Facetime really.

^^ Heck, that is a way away. Hope you're able to spend some decent time with them when you are they way.

^ They visit a few times a year too, for a few days. It's better than nothing I guess.

I'd like them to move up here but they won't. They're moving to be nearer to my sister instead

I am also in the three hours away from family club. Last year I only saw them once, what with covid and everything!

I looked this up (when you asked on the other thread) and remain none the wiser. All I got was this, so it's a "measure of thermal insulance" but not one which one could check at home (if you buy a kilo of apples, you can weigh them yourself, but checking a tog rating seems more complicated).

It's a weighting isn't it? Someone asked me this the other day and I was genuinely surprised that they hadn't heard of 'tog' before.

My baby for example has little sleeping bags for bed time - she has three, a 0.5 tog for the summer, a 1.0 tog that she wears now it's getting cooler, and a 2.5 tog for the winter. Obviously duvets are much higher togs.

For some reason I'm thinking they do, but not often (I don't actually know)
I found my dogs claw on the floor, I've checked him over and there's none missing or any tenderness. Weird.

It could be, I also read it could be related to more sinister things
But this looks as though it was a shedding, it's hollow and I've checked a few times and nothing seems out of the norm or missing
He is due for a check up shortly, so I'll have to add it to the list

Cats lose their claws when they fight. I've had to tweeze another cat's claw from my cat's cheek before. And one of my cats used to be really aggressive and I got one in my leg once, just for walking past her. HOW DARE I! hehe

Cats' claws and dogs' claws have different purposes, so cats are more prone to lose them because they need sharp claws - for hunting, climbing, fighting etc.

Dog claws are more like little finger protectors like our nails are, so they don't tend to fall off that often. Losing one without any signs of pain or blood should be okay. If his paw is all sore or red and bleeding then you'll know. My dog used to catch her claws if she ran on pavements and you can see when it's painful. They get all upset and lick it a lot too. If there's no signs of distress then it's fallen off naturally. Always best to let a vet have a look-see though!

Can anyone recommend any of the cheap alternatives to the PS4 controller? Any trusted ebay sellers dealing in second hand one's?

I've got three knackered official PS4 controllers and there's no way i'm parting with another £40+ again.

^ sometimes I've said no to things I really should have said yes to. But I understand why I said no at the time, so I don't tend to dwell on it - unless it's likely to be on offer again. It's hard to imagine things I haven't experienced so that (helpfully) gets in the way of rumination hehe and I think people tend to romanticise things they feel they've missed out on.

Yes. Yes. Although some things I see differently now, so I'm not that fussed. Honestly, it's weird though when it's small things. Things that appeared small at the time. When it's big things that I didn't do, obviously those would have required lots of small steps to achieve.

Is anyone else experiencing problems when changing their avatar? Mine currently says "biscuits's avatar" and I can't seem to get an avatar to show. It looks like this:

Nope. There's no error message saying it's too big. Maybe it's my phone playing up. I tried to change it back to a previously used avatar and it's the same problem. I wonder if it will happen to others when they try to change their avatar?

I'll pay someone 50p and a packet of Cheetos to check what happens if they try to change their avatar.

Oh no!! sorry about that, Lee! Glad you got it back

@genovese - It allows me to have one of the sauk ones, and it allows me to upload a picture, but the picture never appears it just displays "biscuits's avatar". Weird! So at the moment I've put it to not having an avatar. I bet if I change it to a picture of something rude it will work hehe
