I am having a ultrasound next week and my period was normal this month, previously 34, 43 or 50 days between periods.

^^ Typical isn't it, you think there's something going on and then it decides to behave normally! I had an ultrasound once, it was fine, you just really need a wee because they ask you to drink quite a bit of fluid beforehand. Or atleast I did!

Good luck with your ultra sound newbs. I've had one before too both external and internal.

I found it pretty straightforward tbh and was chatting away to the sonographer about shoes . But yeah you have to drink loads of water and hope there not running late!

Thanks newbs, I may look into that if these darn periods don't let up.

Btw, good luck with the ultrasound next week. I've had one or two in the past and the procedure was surprisingly okay considering I'm generally quite squeamish when it comes to anything medical concerning myself.

Ah, it's always the way isn't it newbs. When you finally get that appointment you've been waiting SO long for everything suddenly seems to right itself!
I was booked in for a general a couple of years ago to see what was going on then suddenly things went back to normal and have been normal ever since - until now

Anyway, all the best newbs

Oh no.. I've changed phones so no longer have the app on my phone to tell me when it's gonna start so it's gonna catch me by surprise.
I backed mine up and it recovered tho information.

Do you think hormones related to your period make anxiety symptoms worse, I've felt more anxious recently which is annoying .

^ I think they can do. I used to think that they definitely did. Over the years I've had 2 counsellors suggest I get my hormones checked but me being me I've never asked a GP. :/

When people wonder why women might be a bit grumpy during their period I wonder if they know we have a headache, and we're bloated and we have an upset stomach, and our body temperature has gone all weird...and that's before the bleeding and the cramps! We're entitled to be bad tempered when we feel like this in my opinion, it's not fun (I'm not having a good day )

^ Are you on any sort of HRT yet, if you don't mind me asking? I only found out recently that women can get increased anxiety in the lead up to the menopause, as if we need anything else to have to cope with!

@ Dougella - no, I've never considered HRT - I guess the increased risk of breast cancer (however small) puts me off. Apparently the unpleasant peri-menopausal symptoms can go on for years before a woman has actually gone through the menopause
I'm hoping that when I eventually do come out the other side I will feel like a new re-energised woman
