Breaking Bad vs The Sopranos vs The Wire

Now that Breaking Bad has reached its conclusion, what are people's thoughts?
Personally it goes Sopranos/Wire then Breaking Bad slightly below

The Wire is the best TV show ever created for me, just canne find any love for Breaking Bad, i'll give it another go when the hype train has died down but watched a season and just couldn't bring myself to watch any more.

Now I've actually watched Breaking bad so I'm already better than most voters in the UK. Ha!

Breaking Bad is awesome but it can be very pulpy and clockwork-like in its plotting and details. The finale demonstrates that well.

The Sopranos - Have got the last 4 epsidoes left to watch but seasons 2-4 are so weak that it's not in the same ballpark

The Sopranos is more existentialist than the other two. It can be very boring at times (in the same way Mad Men can) but you get richer characterisation out of it at first. I still don't rate it as interesting as Breaking Bad though because for me, Tony is a more one dimensional character in the later seasons compared to Walter, and the show rests on him much more.

Well, they all kick the arse out of the majority of mainstream film making. So there. Rawr.

3 of the greatest shows ever made. I would have picked The Wire if not for that kinda let downish last season. Breaking bad was incredible though.

The way I see it too. Although I think there are a helluva lot more shows that would fill the gap between BB and The Sopranos. I'm not a fan of the Sopranos, i just could never get into it, that and James Gandolfini's breathing makes it too hard to watch, he sounds on death's door the whole time.

I've seen series 1-4 of the Wire, all of Breaking Bad but none of the Sopranos.

I think The Wire is probably the highest quality show I've seen, but it's not something that completely grips me. I have enjoyed it and think it is really well done, but not really my sort of show really.

Breaking Bad was great. BUT I may differ from other people in thinking it was better early on. I loved the dark humour of the early episodes, and is something I felt the later episodes lacked. Also, I loved Jesse and felt as the show went on he became less important.

I've never been able to get into The Soprano's or The Wire, tried numerous times even have first season of The Wire on box set

Breaking Bad also took me a while to get into as it didn't interest me a whole lot in the first 3 seasons. Took me across 2 years to get through the first 3 seasons (normally if I like a show I will binge watch it till I've finished) where as seasons 4 and 5 were just amazing.

I've only seen The Wire and Breaking Bad; but I'd say overall Breaking Bad just slightly edges out in front for me. But I agree with Amber in that I preferred Breaking Bad earlier on and I honestly didn't think the final season was quite as good as everyone says it was.

I've only seen Breaking Bad and can understand why some might not enjoy it, but for me it was spot on: science, MacGyver-style wit, black humour, clever writing and directing, characters I genuinely cared about doing things I've only dreamed about (becoming a rich drug lord, who doesn't dream about that?!, and best of all: an amazing soundtrack.

Only seen Breaking Bad and The Wire. I preferred the latter. BB finale disappointed me although I Was glad about the end result.
