You know it's not been the most thrilling day when the foremost highlight was putting in your dry eye drops.

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
^^ Did you try to come off them? That is a very common mistake, people feel better so they think oh I probably don't need these meds anymore, but it was the meds that were helping them to feel better.

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
I didn't think the meds alone were doing much as I didn't feel that great on them, I thought my counselling sessions were what was making the difference. But maybe the meds simply help stabilise my mood, I don't know. Either way I'm getting a repeat, providing my GP actually sends it through...

^ It's often both together, but yeah if they help keep taking them for longer!

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
^^ Well, better is a relative term. You keep going with other forms of help and support and working on the things that perhaps caused you to become depressed in the first place and then you try lowering the dose of your medication again. If that goes ok, you then think about coming off completely, with your doctor's support ofcourse.

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
Sounds like quite a good weekend planned Where are you going on your break?
My sister is staying right now and we're going for a walk at the local nature reserve later and then out for dinner tonight, then to a gallery and boating lake tomorrow before another walk and out for dinner again. I'm looking forward to it but not being so tired on Monday. Isn't POF the absolute worst one? I've only ever heard terrible things. |

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
Hi Jen, I have decided to stay at Carlisle over that weekend. I've never been before. For some reason I always assumed it was a dump of a place but a guy at work told me it was alright.
Also it would only take an hour or so to get there and I will be taking my dog with me whereas if I was going further afield I'd probably have to arrange for him to be looked after. Sounds like a good weekend for you too? what you having for dinner? Erm...what are my thoughts on POF? hmmm...yeah, I just don't have much success on there. I probably should put more photos up but I guess I'd just prefer to start afresh on another site. Are you on any dating sites? I know plenty of fish is pretty bad for women (such as the bombardment with inappropriate photos and the fact much of the guys on there want to get laid but aren't that honest about that.) And I think a struggle for men because of the effort they have to put in with very little guarantee of anything. Not sure what site I'll use next like. |

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
^ As someone who put a half acceptable photo up from a holiday with a very shoddy profile (because I'm not remotely interesting in any way possible) and then proceeded to message absolutely no one out of fear & rejectment, then ignored the profile/never logged in for 2 years..I can vouch that okcupid isn't the place to be bombarded by attractive/single ladies! ...

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
^ let's be realistic, what is the worst than can happen if noone responds. Also this is all that you think, others may think differently about you.
I mean, how do you narrow your approach down to what women would like? There is too much to consider to be sure of what women want. They want different things. p And look at other men. I see many men who seem to do fine but I find them complete numpties. Not sure what I want like. To be quite frank, part of me just wants to get laid but most of me really wants to meet someone and to have a relationship but with respect to the space I need to myself. So is that a bad review for OKcupid? :P |

If I filter to women - no kids and don't want kids..I'm reduced to about 3! thats usually a combination of really not my type..or 19 year old party animals (actually thats also not my type) I always thought if people were seriously looking for a long lasting relationship they would sign up to the paid ones...as surely you wouldn't get time wasters on them? (I have no idea, I've only ever vaguely been on okcupid) For the looking to be laid scenario doesn't that involve various phone apps and swiping left/right? (I sound about 75 at times- I have absolutely no idea what the kids use these days!) |

Going out for Thai food tonight. So tired after being out in the sun all day though I used OkCupid years ago, but there weren't really many people on there and at the time it already felt like it was probably past its peak (I think it was website-based first before apps took off, so maybe that's why), so just Bumble and Tinder now. Those are quick and easy if you're open and forward about what you want (obviously significantly more so if you're a woman), but it can feel just like ordering something off Amazon at times. If you're looking for a relationship then Bumble might be a good choice - there seem to be far more people on there looking for something long-term than on Tinder, and apparently it has a lot more women than are on Tinder too. |

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
Is the only option just to distract yourself from everything until you die? Is that really what it's all about?
It seems such a pointless, hopeless thing. |

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
^ Oh no!
^^^ It depends what you're trying to distract yourself from, I think. |

Re: Type what you're thinking about right now (11)
I watched a YouTube video about this, from memory it's to do with how we perceive ratios, so how long a period is compared to how long we have lived. That's why the 3 months before Christmas seem so long as a child, but as an adult 3 months is a tiny proportion of our life.
I could be misremembering the whole thing. I'll find it. |
