I've not been able to find the Chinese source for his claim, but my Chinese friend says there's a Chinese saying which translated goes "If you're not married, you're still a child".
Sounds like a bit of an old fashioned saying to me. Lots of people who aren't married have children, surely you can't still be a child when you've become a parent?
