**** the wind.
I don't usually get hay fever until late May/June but it's terrible tonight. Even the antihistamines I get from the GP aren't relieving the itchy eyes and nose. I wouldn't mind if I'd actually been out somewhere

Mines worst around May/June, it's unusual to be experiencing these symptoms at this time of year, usually with tree pollen i get headache, fatigue and moodiness. Grr. I do have antihistimines from last year somewhere but i have zero faith in them (they're as good as useless most the time).

Barely been a drop of rain up here in Scotland for the last 4/5 weeks. Today was wall to wall sunshine (still chilly though, because of the ever present cold wind in Aberdeen). more of the same forecast for the next week and beyond.

Ime somewhat pissed off that I cant get out into the countryside hills and mountains, it would have been great weather for hiking, too

You should get an app. Mine's a bit hit and miss sometimes but on the whole it's quite good.

I also know the names of at least 6 other shrubs and green things

I got a brilliant RHS month by month book that does just that. There's only about 10 pages to read per month, and it tells you what plants to look out for, jobs in the garden, general tips and tricks etc.

^^ I've barely enough room for another text message let alone another app!

^ I've had a wee look and might ask for one for my b'day.

I've got a phone with, seemingly, meagre memory. I've hardly got anything on there.

I find being out in it strangely exhilarating. I like the sound when I'm tucked up at home and it's blowing outside somewhat lulling and relaxing. Esp down a chimney. Your safe and comfy inside but can hear the elements railing around you outside.

You're lucky all we have is cloud and fog rolling in and out from the North Sea, it just changes from cold to not so cold.

Same as we have had for the last week in Aberdeen.

Ive noticed over the years that Newcastle/Tyneside seems to get very similar crappy weather to Aberdeen. Its shit isnt it ?

Today is reminding me how grateful i am that we haven't had many hot periods. It's been a summer to appease most people, which is just as well considering - fingers crossed for more middling, uneventful seasons to come!

Actually its perfectly pleasant here at the moment, so musnt grumble. For once we dont have the chilly winds and the constant threat of rain. Should be the same tomorrow, then back to the usual rubbish.

I would like the 'typical/average' weather that you get down there in Southern England, but you can keep the blistering heatwaves. 37C is way too hot for me

^ Is that what it is in England? Suddenly I'm thankful that it's only 34 here! It's supposed to start dropping in a couple of days, with thunderstorms by Friday.

Really? Send 'em down to Essex when you're done will you? I've never known such thick, hot, sticky air linger for so long. It has been four days now, and it's not going to break until Thursday. If that happens, it will be an entire week of so-called "tropical nights". Definitely buying an air-conditioner for next summer. Either that or I'm gonna kill someone!

Please don't kill anyone, Moksha, we're almost out of the summer season, hold on for a little longer, it'll soon be over.
