I can't seem to wake up feeling refreshed, no matter how long I sleep for, or when I sleep :/ I just feel icky and like death for a few hours when I wake up. I want to wake up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed like on TV

I've found using a sleep cycle alarm on my phone makes a big difference to how I feel when I wake up. It goes off when you're in light sleep instead of whatever stage you're in.

It uses the phone's gyroscope to detect movement. You move around in light sleep, but don't in REM. You can set it to wake you up in a half hour window, and it'll wake you as soon as you move. I'm using Sleep Meister, but I think it's only on Apple (

Pretty much, mine just goes under the sheet next to it.
