^ I'm not sure about cushions but there was a little novelty in inflatable furniture. I'm pretty certain we had a chair at one point. Maybe they were suddenly cheaper to produce and/or easier to manufacture. I don't recall them being a thing though.

Never heard of the shop.

How do you cook sausages? I pan fry but they tend to look a bit disappointing when done. I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong. Medium heat, little oil. They look anemic and a bit slimy... ?

^ Oven cooked is the way forward for me. No more skanky looking sausages from the pan.

Can anyone recommend a tv internet browser? I'm on a TCL Android tv. It seems Netflix have put a block on the alternative route i was using asking questions with no work around. Bit of a bummer because that leaves me with Youtube, my own boxset collections, CH.4 and iTV players

Why do washing machine pods tell you to put them at the bottom of the drum underneath the load? The drum spins...

(I refuse to accept any attempts at justification.)

^ I don't know, it does seem a bit pointless.
I don't buy the pods as they always congeal into a useless sticky mass. I don't think there's much I can do about that short of storing them in the fridge.

I think it might be because if you put them on top of the clothes there's a higher chance they could become trapped within the clothing on the first spin and not spread their juices over the whole load.

I usually just throw mine at the back.

^ This does sound plausible, but I'll need a slow-mo video of the start of at least 3 spins demonstrating it to accept it.

I usually put it on top because I always forget to put it in first, then I manually spin the drum so it ends up at the bottom (completely undermining my argument).

^^ Yeah, sticky pods are a pain. I find boxes of detergent impractical though because I'll always want to buy the biggest one despite having nowhere to put it.

How good are those portable air con units? The ones where the tube goes out the window. Are they effective?

^^ My parents gave us one they've never used. I didn't want it as it's huge and I'd prefer to sweat than disturb the Feng Shui of the bedroom. We're probably going to use it tonight for the first time. Will report back.

^ Disrupting the Feng Shui was worth it. We put it on high for an hour before bed and then turned it down and left it for an hour after we were in there. It still felt cool in the morning despite us always leaving our blinds half open (basically because I like the view at night).

We didn't realise we were meant to put in some nozzle for water to drain out of though, so now also have a wet carpet.

Couldn't you connect the nozzle to a cup so that you wake up to a refreshing morning drink?

What kind of farm are brownies, doughnuts, samosas, candles and greetings cards grown on? I don't know, but my local "farmers' market" didn't actually have any stalls that sold produce.

Oh god... I read brainstorm and heard brainstorm. I then (in the same play through) read green needle and heard green needle. I then covered the screen and heard brainstorm. My second playthrough i only heard brain storm - covered, uncovered, reading green needle, reading anything else... brainstorm, brainstorm, brainstorm. What happened to green needle

Has anyone tried no drill blinds - are they any good? or likely to fail at the drop of a hat?

Do gossip magazines still exist? The likes of 'Now', 'Hello', 'Okay' magazine. One or two of those might not actually exist but you get the gist - i'm pretty sure 'Hello' magazine was/is real. I'm just wondering because i was listening to Bill Bryson talking about them in a mocking way (how else can you talk about them?) and it got me thinking..... do people still read this shit? It's been a long time since i spent any time browsing over magazines in a shop. Is Zoo and Nuts magazine still a thing? GQ, Loaded, FHM.. ?

GQ is still in circulation. The other "lads mags" Nuts, Zoo etc. stopped being published quite a while ago. Maybe 10 years or so ago!

I think all the vapid gossip magazines are still knocking about though. Hello gets exclusives to people's weddings and babies, so online can't beat them.

I used to love getting Kerrang magazine

Yeah, i would have thought GQ was still going, which was more 'classy' and fashion orientated. The 'lads mags' had no chance once the internet took off - their appeal was outmatched, lol. Well, i think that's why they disappeared. I used to be quite a fan of Loaded back in the 90s though, the whole culture of the magazine was quite appealing to me as a teen. That said, glad they've gone.

You've reminded me about the Hello! exclusives. Shame. Those sort of magazines need to be wiped off the face of the planet.

Ha, Kerrang. Gnarly. I bought the odd Uncut issue and Q.

I had to google who she is. Never seen her in my life - so I guess she did a great job as being a spy.
