A human hair Hygrometer. There is real human hair inside this instrument. It works on the principle that human hair expands and contracts with humidity. The hair strands are linked to some gears which drive the needle to indicate the relative humidity. A highly accurate German made instrument for my weather observing activities.

^ Okay, well the two best beginner books by far have got to be:

Drawing on the right side of the brain, by Betty Edwards - Such an amazing book, and a great eye opener.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Drawing-...s=bettyedwards

Keys to drawing by Bert Dodson - Covers a lot more stuff than Edwards' book, but Edwards covers very important things in more depth.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Keys-Drawing...ds=bert+dodson

Probably best to buy both and work your way through both of them.

A lot of people would be pleased with stopping there, but if you feel like it, after you've completed these books, you can progress onto more advanced stuff like Glenn Vilppu, Marshal Vandruff, and Proko.

Obviously, just that isn't going to make you good at drawing by itself but I found it a good way of being motivated to keep drawing when I could come out with things that actually looked good. I mean, not as good as his looked, but I wasn't hoping for miracles :P
Oh sounds good Proko is another great youtuber you might want to check out.

Would you ever feel comfortable enough to post your stuff on here?

Bought cause I wanted to use the capsules in home made face masks. But I actually think I might pop a few. Probably more worthwhile if I detoxed for a few days but

I watched this as a kid, it was a 2? / 3? part series, can't for the life of me recall if it was good or bad. I do remember being excited over it. Saw it for a couple of quid so grabbed it. Michael Caine is one of my fav actors. Yes, some truly shit films under his belt, but he's still amazing as actors go for me.

I may not return all of them, fingers crossed.

I kept one pair from this order

I really, really hate shopping for clothes. I'm very fussy with how something fits, which is bizarre, because i have such a limited perspective of how it actually looks. I don't own a full-length mirror, so with trousers it's just a matter of 'feeling' for correct fit .. and looking downward With tops it's a bit easier (bathroom mirror), but even then it's not the complete picture.

Sod asking my Dad how it looks!

Now that would be sensible, wouldn't it!

I think i may do when i move out again. I need to challenge this stupid relationship i have with clothes and become more comfortable with my own image, which is the main issue - it's something i've carried around since i was a teen, having mild anxiety attacks in shop changing rooms, etc. It's probably why i don't have a full-length mirror in the first place, and also why i have a dwindling selection of clothes - i'm just not confident with 'em

A copy of The Babadook to scare the poo out of my mum when I see her this weekend.

I hope she likes it, she can be a bit unpredictable with horror films. She'll act all squeamish over something fairly tame, and then merrily watch films like Last House of the Left and those straight-to-DVD Saw and Hostel clones.

Thank you The rest of the room is styled in a similar hipster/vintage way, you'll love picking out little bits and bobs to decorate with if you go with that kind of decor it's a bit addictive!

Gambled on 3 pairs of shoes/boots in the hope that i'd like at least one pair - nope (colors too dark and/or not quite what i want). I say gamble - i did actually like them to look at online - but the return p&p cost isn't covered, so that's coming out of my pocket.

Bloody annoying. Think i'll stick to the companies that offer free delivery and returns from now on.

Some of these new LED filament bulbs. These not only look lovely (just like the old traditional bulbs, and made of real glass) but the 8 watt ones are brighter than an old 60 watt bulb and the light colour is virtually identical. Very clever stuff indeed.

I find it really difficult to focus my mind for more than 5 mins but i really want to be able to read, i bought myself a book ages ago and im almost done but its taken me way too long to get through. Human behaviour interests me as does mental health so i chose these two books, the depression one seems really interesting and compares depression to animals hibernating which sort of makes sense and the author seems to be in touch with reality and in no way condescending unlike some books like this that ive looked at before.

*Man's Search For Meaning: The classic tribute to hope from the Holocaust by Viktor Frankl.
*Depressive Illness: The Curse of the Strong by Dr. Tim Cantopher.

And a little pot of pencils, a sharpener and an eraser in the shape of an owl.

I kind of want to collect novelty erasers (I don't want to say 'rubbers' because that just sounds like I'm infatuated with condoms) They're so pretty and they give me that comforting whiff of nostalgia, even though I can't remember having many of them as a kid. And there are probably thousands of unique ones out there.
