Re: Do you wear a watch?
^ but watch bacterium are my only friends.
I hate watches of any kind. I bought one recently for work and I just had to take it off because it does my head in to be clock watching. A smart watch would annoy me too. I don't want more ways to be contactable. But I get why others would need and want them. |

Re: Do you wear a watch?
No, though I remember some aunt I never really visit advising me to buy a watch to accessorise my clothing. Maybe if I had money I would buy watches for fashion, though I can do with one on my job, not necessary but I hate and don't carry my phone into the wet, moist environment of the dish pit.

Re: Do you wear a watch?
In theory, I wear a watch but the strap broke on mine (I wear cheap watches, so replacing the strap would cost more than replacing the watch) about four years ago and I've never got round to replacing it. One advantage is that I've lost the white stripe on my left wrist, but it just annoys me that I need to get my 'phone out when I want to know the time instead of just glancing down at my wrist.

Re: Do you wear a watch?
I own two watches but I never seem to find the time to wear them. Although one of those watches was my Dad's and I don't want to risk damaging that watch. As for my other watch, it's nothing special. I can't remember the brand but it's definitely not a Rolex. Although it does seem appealing to own a luxury watch. I would imagine it would go well with a tuxedo. Especially when going to a greggs. But for now I'm happy to check the time on my phone.

Re: Do you wear a watch?
I always used to wear a watch but it would be pointless these days because, unless the clock face was ENORMOUS, I wouldn't be able to see the time without first rummaging around in my bag to retrieve some reading glasses. If I'm out I'll ask the person I'm with the time, as they will undoubtedly have their mobile in their hand, or if I was out alone (which I never am) I'd have to rummage around in my bag for my phone and would probably find that the battery was dead.

Re: Do you wear a watch?
Not sure about bacteria TDP, I’ve worn a watch all my life with no ‘issues’. Touch a communal door handle and you’re touching bacteria...

Re: Do you wear a watch?
My grandma had to have her arm amputated due the amount of bacteria lurking beneath her watch.

Re: Do you wear a watch?
I’m not one for jewellery, but I do own a couple of watches which I like to wear when I’m out and about or at work. Both watches are manual winders. Even though I’m not a collector (couldn’t afford to be!!) I do have a bit of a fetish for old-fashioned mechanical watches, especially hand-winders, less so automatics. My older watch was given to me by my gran, so there’s also sentimental attachment to that one. It’s a Rotary, almost 40 years old and still ticking away nicely. But I more recently splashed out on a Timex re-issue of its 1960s Marlin. Love wearing this watch. It has a small face, typical of the period, which fits well on my skinny little wrist.

Re: Do you wear a watch?
^^
I had no idea that Rolex wall clocks even existed! It's times like this that you realise what you're missing out on in life! Just the other day for example this forum has opened up my eyes to the art of folding toilet paper. Whereas before I had been like a savage! Willfully scrunching up toilet paper and scooping it out like you wouldn't believe! But it doesn't end there! Only today Appear has shown us how easy it is to replicate a McMuffin! It's witchcraft I tell ya! As well as being very talented with a whisk! Anyway, now seems like a good time to stop. Although before I go.... I was going to grow some herbs but I couldn't find the thyme |

Re: Do you wear a watch?
I haven't worn a watch in ages.
I couldn't tell you how long ago it was though, I seem to have lost track of time since. |

Re: Do you wear a watch?
Yes, I voted `all of the time` but in reality that ends up being `most of the time unless I forget`. I do tend to feel undressed without one though, and I definitely always have one on if out and about or going to be seen. I don't wear much jewellery generally so I count it as an accessory, plus I cba with having to find or get out my phone to see what the time is, but I also feel weird if I don't know.

Re: Do you wear a watch?
I used to because it has a cute strap but it got caught on absolutely everything at work, so I just stopped wearing one and never put one back on again.

Re: Do you wear a watch?
Best buy I ever made was a Citizen EcoDrive, no batteries, which was important as it goes in the sea with me and no matter what they tell you, no waterproof watch is waterproof any more once you open up the back to replace a battery. Also pays for itself in savings on batteries. 12 years in and it’s still going strong.

Re: Do you wear a watch?
Sometimes. I've got one of those cool (well I think it's cool) skeleton mechanical watches, where you can see the little spools and cogs turning.
I enjoy the gravitas of the wristwatch |

Re: Do you wear a watch?
If I were a bloke then I'd probably want to wear a watch for fashion purposes, like a big statement one.
I've seen some that are ridiculous pounds and zero pence. |
