Did you watch The Staircase documentary? We're halfway through the dramatisation with Toni Collette and Colin Firth. Rather good.
I'd recommend showing your eyeballs:
Conviction: Murder at the Station
Conviction: Murder in Suburbia (the documentary not the rubbishy itv drama)

They're on Netflix. They're interesting and more around people trying to get their case taken to the court of appeal.

Yep, I have seen the documentary but not the dramatisation of The Staircase.

Nothing much really. I'm watching the second series of The Tourist, but it seems a bit rubbish compared to the first.
I watched Loudermilk recently, which I really liked. It's nice having something on the go that you really want to watch.

I've just finished watching Into The Night on Netflix. I've enjoyed watching it. Although it didn't end with a conclusion as season 3 hasn't been released or possibly made yet. But that's life and worse things at sea. Or something like that. I might actually go back to watching old shows again. While also listening to my gramophone records.

^^^ Yeah it wasn't a patch on the first series. I shan't spoil but

Motherland on netflix. Highly, highly recommend The Staircase to anyone who likes true crime btw, most interesting one I've ever seen (although I'm no expert, quick caveat there )

If it happens, it's predictable, but since they said the water has gone bad, it's probably just people hallucinating

Yeah, it seems obvious that it's the mines poisoning people now (and them killing people to cover it up). It had a promising start, so I hope things aren't that obvious, but it's clearly going that way.

^ oh.
I just started watching that, I was only on episode one.

Maybe if people are talking about plots they could use the spoiler button?

I'm happy to do that, but I don't think what I've said here is a spoiler since it's discussed by the characters throughout episode one.

Two episodes in and this is pretty good! I hadn't realised it was a Narcos spin-off. Narcos was excellent, but I couldn't get into the Mexico series.

Curb You Enthusiasm S12E01 - the same problem as the previous two seasons where there's still the occasional funny moment, but it feels like too many things come from absolutely nowhere specifically to lead to the final scene (e.g. the way that woman grabbed his glasses with absolutely no explanation until afterwards, and even then it didn't make any sense). I know the good seasons were also like that to some extent, but it never felt as badly thought out as these last three. Raging at Siri also felt like it got old 10 years ago.

I've been watching 1899 on Netflix. I thought it was going to be a bit like Titanic, but then it sailed off into a different direction. So I ended up drifting away from watching the end of the show.

^^ Very occasional funny moments.

And Leon's scenes are barely registering. He used to steal the show.

^^ is that the one from the creators of DARK?

If you are looking for something German to watch on Netflix, I recommend Kleo.

I'm sorry Biscuit, I don't believe we've met. My name is Chess & "I usually only watch 90s shows and I can barely scroll through the Netflix options" Junkfood. Although I had a quick check and Google says it is from the creator of DARK. As for Kleo, I'll give that show a try. I would recommend something for you, but I'm stuck in the past.

Watched the first of these - it was good (in the sense these things can be)! I'll try second now.

We're enjoying the dramatisation of the Staircase. It goes beyond what I remember the documentary covering showing the appeals that came later and the relationship he formed with someone that worked on the documentary. It shows a lot more of the wife's background too. It's interesting.

Finished The Terror last night. It is a great show, as long as you only see Season 1. Jared Harris was amazing throughout.

Just in time to start Halo season 2. Hoping it's better than season 1.

It should have finished three seasons ago really and turned into a Leon spin off. Hopefully the last episode is justified, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I've just finished the final episode and highly recommend this!

Well this is set in the 80s, so I'm not sure what will happen to you if you watch it? Perhaps sit yourself in a circle of granulated sugar for safety!

I forgot to mention that I've been watching Kleo. Great recommendation, Biscuit! I'm 3 episodes in so far.

As for the sugar circle of protection. It never would have occurred to me to use granulated sugar. Icing sugar, maybe, but not granulated. This is why you are the leader of the Rubber Chickens!

^ Powder sugar circles are strictly for laminate and wooden floorings. Imagine trying to hoover up powdered sugar it will embed itself into the carpet. I think hoovering granulated sugar from the carpet would be really satisfying - the sound of the grains being sucked up the hoover.

Glad you're enjoying it! There's nothing I love more than a decent one-series-series.

But actually... edit: series two is coming out this year .

That's great about Kleo! Bring on season 2! Although I've been watching so much thriller on Netflix lately that I might have problems transitioning back to Downton Abbey! Unless they change the scripts.

What did you think of the second episode?

I thought it was pretty, pretty good (well, compared to what I was expecting from this season anyway).

Started watching One Day on Netflix. It’s not bad, but the idea that two such people would form such an emotional bond with each other seems very unlikely to me. In fact it seems very contrived in that respect, but the actors are very engaging and it’s binge-worthy because of them.
