Hello lovely lady. Sadly, I am not in touch with Crafty Elf. Hope he's ok. It's a worry for sure.

I'm not doing all that well myself either. I have been experiencing constant tiredness/weakness and attacks of severe skin itching all over my body. I went to the GP and had blood tests done, and I've been diagnosed with high blood pressure & Stage 2 chronic kidney disease (there are 5 stages), so life is a bit rubbish and scary for me right now. The kidney disease diagnosis was a bit of a shock to say the least.

The condition is manageable but not curable. I have to make serious lifestyle changes if I don't want to end up on dialysis or needing a kidney transplant. Going to hospitals and doctors is made even worse by my SA, as I'm sure people here can appreciate. I had an ECG at the hospital on Wednesday, and my anxiety was so bad that they couldn't get a proper reading. They tried to get me to relax but it didn't work and they had to give up.

Ain't life fun?

^ Really sorry to hear this, Lee. Doesn't sound nice at all. Hopefully the management helps in lessening your symptoms. Doing hospital stuff is never nice either - even without SA. Hopefully it's a bit easier in future appointments.

^^ Really sorry to hear you've been having those health struggles Lee, hope you can get some of the management strategies going and you start to feel better. Hospital appointments and tests are so hard when you have high levels of anxiety.

I'm sorry Lee, sounds like you're really going through it at the minute . I'm awful at medical/hospital stuff (well let's face it most stuff but health anxiety is another horrible layer on top of any other anxieties isn't it). It's lovely to see you though, thank you for the update and I hope you can stick around for a little while or keep popping back when you can even if you feel it's just to vent or have a little distraction

Ello lovely fella.

Thanks for checking in and updating. I hope it's not weird to say I think of you

Aw sorry to read that you're experiencing those health issues and the anxiety around going to the hospitals must be really challenging

Hopefully they can support you with the changes to hopefully ward off anything further happening.

Re: the ECG. Is it possible to have those done at home, ? It might be worth exploring that. [

Yes, I believe I did one of those home ones years ago. They haven't mentioned it yet but they might put me on one again. I'm seeing the doctor again next Tuesday.

It's lovely to see you back on the forum Lee

So sorry to hear that you are suffering with some health issues, it's no fun getting older is it! I hope things will improve for you soon and that the hospital appointments aren't too stressful.

Take care

Thanks everyone.

Been to see the nurse this afternoon and got told I have Type 2 diabetes as well. It's my own fault for being addicted to sweets, Pepsi and other assorted junk for years.

Going to have to work hard to change lifestyle as it can be controlled through diet/exercise. The fear will take care of that, though. The few positive things in my favour is that I've never drank or smoked.

Why are we shushing?

Since when have scotch egg crumbs been a taboo subject on sauk? Only to be typed about in hushed keystrokes.

The secret Scotch egg crumb society. Members: seagull and BFG.

(Sorry, seagull, I know you're morally opposed to scotch eggs. I am too. BFG will eat one just to spite us tomorrow.)
