The power of music to inspire and hurt
Was just watching a video from one of my YouTube favourites, a musician that covers many popular songs in his own style...
He uploaded a brief film he'd made watching a master luthier form a guitar.... Wasn't until about 1/2 way through the film that my mind latched onto the music playing really softly in the background. Was an acoustic cover of Black Hole Sun by SoundGarden (fronted by the recently deceased Chris Cornell) that the musician was performing with the guitar being made. Really sent a shiver through me and resurrected all the sadness i felt about his death ... only much more intensely. Sat here with tears in my eyes. Guess because of how i'm feeling at the moment. |

Re: The power of music to inspire and hurt
Luthier? Let me just google that. Ah! A maker of stringed instruments such as violins or guitars. Odd that I haven't heard that word before, but that's completely irrelevant.
Yes, music has always had the power to inspire and hurt and comfort. The right song can cheer me up or feel less alone. I might listen to a miserable and depressing song and think Yes! That sounds how I feel. Someone gets it and it's not just me. |
