Default Other OCD Sufferers?

Does anyone have OCD and if so, have you found any way to beat it?

Mine's chronic and it's beginning to cause complications.

I haven't been able to hold down a job because of it which is why I want to go back to Uni p/t to become a freelance illustrator.

The diagnosis I've had from two psychologists now is that the OCD has led to SA.

Unlike most OCD sufferers I don't fear germs or something tragic happening to a loved one but simply embarrassment in social situations.

I was advised to take paroxetine by my current psychologist and work up to the highest dosage, which she assured me beat it.

I don't want to resort to drugs but it's really getting me down.

Default Re: Other OCD Sufferers?

I know I'm a bit confused too!

As far as I know it is social anxiety but engine of it is obsessional thinking and compulsive behaviours.

Basically I have to do a compulsive behaviour to prevent embarrassment from occuring but as you can imagine, this is futile.

I'm just so tired of it now, it's like my brain keeps hitting a wall. Try not to let yourself get trapped in OCD.
