I'd say its aimed at 20 something's with a bit of a horror vibe. But quite cleverly done film.

Cowboys and Aliens 7/10
At first it didn't like it would work, but then it melded quite well. Was a kind of a copy of Stargate, but with mixes of a western and Indiana Jones.

A 1990s movie called "Ravenous" starring Robert Carlyle and Guy Pierce.

A gory story of Cannibalism in The Rocky mountains of the USA in the mid 19th Century.

Perfectly ok 6/10.

Warning : this might put you off eating Stew for a while afterwards!

A Dark Song - 7.5 / 10

I recommend this if you like horror films that dont scare you with cheap jump scares, its creepy and original, its a low budget film and a bit of a slow burner but still really good

I really want to see The Dark Tower though I'm not best pleased with the casting of Idris Elba as Roland

I haven't seen much of his stuff tbh. It's more because I have read The Dark Tower books and Idris Elba doesn't fit my imagination, lol.

Yeah your probably right, although I'd thought it was to be a series of films.

Tbh even the books themselves are quite annoying, though I haven't read them in over 10 years. They start of with such promise then either things are never explored properly and go off on another unanswered tangent or it becomes (esp. towards the end 3 books) terribly self indulgent on the part of King. I did like the characters tho.

I can't remember the last time I sat down and watched a film! I watched about 15 minutes of Spectre. Blofeld didn't seem to have a cat? What is that about?!

I didn't watch the rest of it and I probably never will. 2/10 for the 15 minutes that I saw.

The last Bond film was just dire .

I saw Blade Runner 2049 a few days ago at the IMAX. Yeah, it was amazing. I don't expect that it will be for everyone, but for me it was everything. 2049 out of 10.

^ Yup. I was disappointed when the sky didn't actually fall in Skyfall. Too much cgi as well. James Bond stunts should look real.

Parkland, 4/10. I was disappointed by this film. It seemed to have no opinion of the events it was recalling ( Kennedy assassination) and seemed happy to document the minutiae, again.

Maze Runner 2 5/10
The first was brilliant, the second was heck of a challenge to follow up to the first specifically with it focused around and drooling over this Thomas. But it is good dystopian theme, and decent story behind it.

Earth: One Amazing Day. 7.5/10

Documentary film capturing life on earth for a variety of species across the course of one day. Narrated by Robert Redford. I guess this is only showing in the bigger multiplexes, but it's worth seeking out. Was a treat to watch on the big screen.

Really? I saw it with someone else who loved the original and we were both underwhelmed. It's so long, and though it has ideas, meh, it doesn't explore them with the grace and poignancy of the original imo.

Other life...on Netflix. One of those films that explores what the mind can achieve when technology messes around with it. Netflix was a godsend this summer for both of us. Worth every penny. Lol.

Bladerunner 2049

2.5/10 ~ interminably dull,.. and long,. and humourless,.. and dark....and negative,....
I'm pretty annoyed by this fact, as the original was one of my favourite films I could watch again and again.
okay,. most people in it are apparently replicants,. but so was Rutger Hauer and Daryll Hannah, and they acted with charisma and life and emotions,. Which was one of the pivotal points of the original,.
whereas everyone in the remake's acting has all the life and charisma of a dentist's waiting room

1922 - I enjoyed this, once I started watching I released it's a short story I read years ago but would never have remembered the name of . The acting of Thomas Jane is what makes it for me. 7/10

The Martian - I liked the 1st half more than the 2nd. But enjoyable enough. 7/10

A rather odd, British Thriller called "The Ghoul".

A undercover policeman fakes a mental illness to gain access to a suspect's psychiatrist. It soon becomes apparent that things are not what they seem, and the policeman quickly starts to confuse fact with fiction (or is it the other way round) ?

A strange, creepy film , but quite watchable. 8/10

Geostorm - 1.9/10

this film takes 'dumbing things down' to a whole new level,
Ignored my instincts about having Gerard Butler as the lead actor in this, and gave it a chance,
but, as they had a little girl narrating the intro I did wonder, "who is this aimed at?"
then, as the film wore on,..I just couldn't believe how bad it was, and how dumbed-down the plot and dialogue was,...
there was an interesting idea around the film, but the acting and technical budget must have been seriously low,...
I think this'll be on the list of channel 5 afternoon movies within a few months
