Re: You up for it? 100 push ups and 50 pull ups a day for 1 month challenge
I finished this on wednesday. Honestly, my body is crying out for a break. In the end I was doing 150 push ups, 60 pull ups, and 100 squats daily. I took 3 days off in total. The workout itself isn't hard, but doing them every day was tough. Especially in the winter mornings, that was crazy. And I think I've got a non-w@nking related wrist injury. But once I completed them each morning, I genuinely felt great afterwards.
I've reduced my body fat, that is clear to see. My upper body muscles are feeling fuller. I'm going to take about 5 days break, then on monday im going to continue with my heavier weighted calisthenics routine. @Change87 - Thanks for your support in this thread, it didn't go unnoticed. @candlelight - I used to do sprint HIIT back in the day, I wish I could go back to doing them, they are by far the most brutal workouts I've ever done, I've puked up after on a couple of occassions. I feel like vomitting just thinking about them. They are by far the best exercise for shredding body fat and getting super fit in a relatively short space of time. It's the king. Hill sprints too. |

I went to an athletics track this morning and ran a 400m sprint. And I signed up to their gym.

I've been getting into doing press-ups this week. I started with 4 a few times at the start of the week, now up to 6, doing them every 1:30-2 hours

^ Cool bro. You should Google 'grease the groove'. It's not about w@nking, I swear. A lot of people have had great success with this method, and it works really well with press ups.

Re: You up for it? 100 push ups and 50 pull ups a day for 1 month challenge
Anyone up for this (or something similar/something more suited to your individual level) starting 1st Jan for 30 days straight (or even 5-6 days a week for 4 weeks)?
I like to start the year with some solid conditioning work to counter the mega Xmas binge. Who's up for it? No gym required. |

Re: You up for it? 100 push ups and 50 pull ups a day for 1 month challenge
^ Sup to you really. Because you're doing it daily, no need to reach failure on any set. As long as you reach the daily target. For example, 10x10 or 5 x20. Or if you find push ups really hard you can do 20x5 if you really want to.
Personally I'd say each set do about 50-70% of your 1 set max. (If you can do 30 Push ups max on a single set, aim for around 15-20 push ups each set). |

It's up to you. Personally I'm going to aim to do this 6-7 days a week. But listen to your body, take day off if you feel it. Or if you can power through it, then do, as it's only a 30 day challenge.
I'm gonna be doing the same as last year.... 100 Push ups 50 pull ups 100 squat tuck jumps. Daily. |

Re: You up for it? 100 push ups and 50 pull ups a day for 1 month challenge
I want to start a daily workout as I'll no longer be walking to and from work or running up and down stairs, so I'll be short of 11k steps per day and I'm getting fat as it is.
I think I'll do 30 days on my rowing machine, since this has always been the most difficult exercise for me, I don't think I've ever managed more than 3-4 minutes. I'd like to try to build it up. |

Day one do your rowing for 3 mins and increase it by 1 min each day. So day 2 do 4 mins, day 3 do 5 mins, etc... So by day 30 you'd be doing it for 32 mins, which is actually insane for a rowing machine, but you'd have made tiny incremental increases each day, your body can easily adapt to 60 secsonds increases each day, and you become fitter after only 30 days, which is a really short time. And imo, rowing for 20-30 mins is tougher than running for 20-30mins. |

Re: You up for it? 100 push ups and 50 pull ups a day for 1 month challenge
I did some cardio and rowing the day before yesterday, but couldn't manage any yesterday, so did weight lifting instead. I'll see if I can do some more today.
I've started logging all my food intake and am working to 2000cals, 60g fat, 200g protein and maybe 200-300g carbs. I put in a big Tesco delivery today that should be good for this split. |

Re: You up for it? 100 push ups and 50 pull ups a day for 1 month challenge
Just did 1600 meters in one 6 minute period on the rower.
I'm so pumped, I've been failing to hit 3 lots of 2 minutes rowing 500m with 3 minute breaks, so this is awesome to me. |
