^^ Sorry to hear that HH

@ Azalea It's so lovely to hear that you've managed to find some happiness during this past couple of years despite suffering a such a lot of family heartache x
It does seem that life only started to improve for some people on this forum after the age of 40 so noone should ever completely write their life off as it is possible for things to change for the better.

^ I hope you get a better nights sleep tonight Skitz. There's few things quite as damaging for physical/mental health than consistently not getting enough Zzzz. I should know, I've battled insomnia for years.

If you can grab just an hour here and there, whenever you get the chance, it might help a little x

I was forever being disappointed by people and came to the conclusion that there must be something intrinsically wrong with me for people to care so little in return. It was really only when I met my husband several years ago that I started to believe that perhaps I wasn't completely repugnant and unloveable.

Yeah, that's a strange one isn't it!! Why are some of the seemingly most selfish uncaring people surrounded by a big support network of family and friends

It's unfair that some of the most arrogant folk appear to strut around without a care in the world and yet other folk (such as many of the lovely members on this site) live such lonely isolated lives and often struggle to get through each day.

Ahhh but when was Life ever fair!

I certainly don't think you should feel that you will forever be walking a long the path of inevitably that you set out on. Changes will occur whether you want them to or not. There's many times when I came so close to not being here but it's only in my middle aged years that I can now say that I'm glad, on those occasions at least, that I messed up and lived to tell the tale.

Positive changes are there for the taking Just.Fin and a big fat to the rest of humanity
Thanks that really does help a lot. I mean I have to keep going since there is no other choice but its good to know some people do win in the end.

^ That's very good to hear Percy - i hope your mood continues to lift today.
There's nothing worse than when that all engulfing cloud of depression starts to descend but nothing better then when it slowly starts to lift again

^ Yes me too

Often I think the Depression is far worse than the SA because whether you are out and about with people or alone at home it's always there hanging above your head like a dark cloud following you around everywhere. At least when SA was the only issue there was some respite from it all once you could escape the social situation and the people

Even worse when you have to hide it from people and "put on a happy face". If there's one thing I've got very very good at doing over the years is putting on a positive and friendly front. Even during some of my absolute darkest moments.

I can get serious paranoia as well sometimes. Not helped by the fact I have a history of local people spreading rubbish about me.

It doesn't so far prevent me from leaving the house but it doesn't help my current poor mental health.

Sadly they are, I've had that confirmed. Of course because of the paranoia I then begin to see it in places it probably isn't happening as well.

Sometimes I get that too. Hearing things or people talking.

Not great. Went up to see CPN and surprise surprise i'm being fobbed off. She's leaving her post so the being re referred to her is out the window. She's now saying I have personality disorder traits. She doesn't think I have AVPD as if I was avoident I wouldn't be seeing her (nice little get out clause for the NHS ) tho I may have had it and there has been a shift. But thinks I should look at Scitzoid PD and see what I think (not that I have it, but I have traits of it). I have looked and I don't really identify.

I can identify with AvPD and BPD (the latter up to a point). But either way I don't have clinical levels. So I've got 2 more appointments to which we might explore these traits and find some self help stuff. Tbh I don't feel like going back, what's the ****ing point? Changes nothing.

For whatever reason (I'm not sure why) this has properly upset me. I drove home a little recklessly, tearful and angry. I'm not sure why tho, i'm not bothered about stopping seeing her and i'm not looking for therapy from them. I think I just want to be acknowledged, maybe. I'm sick of seeing all these ppl with diagnosis and yet have functional lives, yet me and some others on here have **** all quality of life and are constantly fobbed off and ignored.

Rant over! lol

My life is life is like ****ing Groundhog Day. When the **** am I going to grow up and start being more selfish anout my own needs and stop caring about other selfish people. Right is wrong and wrong is right. I'm tired of fighting these shitty feelings.

I've noticed a few things are changing for the better this year for me im feeling alot positive still have a blip on the odd occasion but it doesn't let it define and i try not to focus on the negativity it brings and i'm jumping into things i normally decide not to do.. also i'm trying to use the phone alot more recently and its helping my phobia over it... in general i'm in good shape compared to last year.... just hoping i don't sink to that level again which was a worry....

I'm thinking the older i get the less worrying i'm doing and i don't care what people think of me anymore plus if they say something sometimes i reply back which i never used to do... i don't let people walkover me any longer

I don’t worry so much about people who want to walk all over others...
Or people who say mean things just because they can..
