Sad, down and tearful. My sister passed away 6 years ago today and it doesn't get any easier. It still feels like yesterday when I last saw her.

Inadequate in every aspect of my life, socially inadequate, physically inadequate, financially inadequate, sexually inadequate, humanly inadequate.
I think I'm a hairs width away from having a meltdown, I can't take much more negativity.

^^you should try to change that attitude D1662 if you can help it. It doesn't do anything but make you feel worse about yourself. You may be anxious and find it difficult to cope, and that is hard enough to deal with without blaming yourself and allowing people to treat you unreasonably.

You have to, at some point, accept your limitations and not think too much about how things could be, could've been 'if', or should be. You will just vex yourself even more.

There probably is some truth to what you say. I mean, I think many of us who struggle mentally find it difficult to find a partner but don't blame yourself man. You have to step back every now and then, and consider whether what you are doing is helping or not. It can easily get out of hand if we don't.

Why did I decide to drink coffee earlier! I never drink it and now I feel spaced-out and slightly on edge!

I don't know how people can drink that stuff all day :p I'd go bloody mad.

@ D1662 It's sad to hear you being so critical about yourself, as others here who have got to know a little about you can see that you have an awful lot to offer.
I spent 8 years with someone that treated me badly (he used to take his ex out behind my back) because I was afraid of being totally alone and felt that no one else would want me. Such beliefs obviously turned out to be wrong as I'm now with someone that I'm very happy with and I think I must have been crazy to have wasted all those years on a relationship that was going absolutely nowhere.
Your boyfriend obviously isn't making you happy and it sounds like this isn't the relationship for him either if he has cheated on you. Honestly, there are other guys out there that you will be much more compatible with and who will love and appreciate everything that makes you unique

@ Pink Lady I'm so sorry to hear about the death of your sister 6 years ago. I can well imagine how very painful her loss continues to be for you and that anniversarys are particularly difficult for you to get through. I hope that besides the many tears and heartache that you also have lots of happy memories of your times together to bring you some comfort

I'm feeling mega stressed!!! How do you get a stubborn teenager to revise for important exams when they would obviously prefer to be playing PC games

Sounds rough, HHesse! So has the doctor ruled out the possibility of any physiological illness? How long have you felt like this?

Jeez, I could have written those words myself
Depression sucks big time and, as you suggest, the other mental health issues such as anxiety are in my opinion more bareable because at least you can distract yourself from them by becoming immersed in other pursuits (TV, reading, exercise, whatever) but when you no longer have the energy or motivation to even distract yourself from the internal misery it's like there's no escape.

I hope that your appointment with the Doctor goes okay, HH, and that he/she can come up with something that can help you. Two weeks seems a long time to wait though. I hope posting your negative feelings and frustrations here at least provides you with a little emotional release and support

Anyway, off to the doctors again, I think, but that won't happen for another 2 weeks....[/QUOTE]

I hope things get better for you and hopefully seeing your gp will put your mind a ease, it's rubbish when you don't feel right but you don't know what the answers are.

I'm tired.

Mum was screaming at my brother, so ruined the day. She's not done this in quite a while and usually the target is me, so makes a change.

Odd

I was 33 on Sunday, every birthday since I hit 30 I've sort of had some sort of mini break down, this time I haven't really had one...maybe being permanently miserable for several years takes it out of you

I did ordered a lovely indian takeaway however..and I still seem to be suffering the after effects..I know exactly what food sets my IBS off and still I do it to myself

I'm glad to hear you got through your latest birthday without having a mini breakdown. By the time you reach 40 you will be laughing

I was coping ok with losing my beautiful dog, but some days it's so hard and I miss her so much.
I had been watching two collared doves nesting in the tree outside my back door for the past few weeks and yesterday I was looking down on the nest from a bedroom window and as the doves swapped over, I saw two tiny little yellow chicks. I found it really heart warming, but today I saw there was no one sitting on the nest at all, so I ran upstairs to look down on it and saw that the chicks have gone I expect they were taken by a magpie I feel a bit devastated by it.
So sorry you've been feeling so low, although it's totally to be expected after losing your beloved dog. She was a huge part of your family for a long time and you will naturally be grieving her loss

Your story about the Doves reminds me of the birds nesting in the tree outside my bedroom window last year. The parents took it in turns to sit on the eggs for several weeks, day and night, in sometimes atrocious weather, and on a number of occasions I shooed away some magpies. I became very attached to the feathered couple outside my window. Then one day I returned home to find a dead hatchling on the ground beside a broken egg. The other hatchlings obviously didn't make it either and the parents eventually abandoned the empty nest. Nature can be so cruel. It sent me into quite a Depression for a while too, so you aren't alone in being affected in this way.

You certainly aren't useless Melangell, far from it. You're a great mother for a start!! The world needs more people like you who are able to feel so much compassion for all living things

I hope you at least manage to seek some solace and enjoyment in your Art

Thank ye for the birthday wishes

Yep, maybe I'll be happy by the time I'm 40

Had some noodles now, feeling better, unfortunately I keep doing "something" that keeps setting off my back pain, I think I've done something to a muscle last week at work and I keep doing stupid things and getting twinges..this morning was flat pack furniture

Back on the ibuprofen!

Woke up feeling really agitated again! It happened last week but a bit more severely! Slightly concerned about it! It might just be because I have a lot on my mind at the moment-hopefully it will improve and not get worse.
