Atypical. I found it really funny and heartwarming.
I know some people thought the portrayal of ASD was too stereotypical, but I thought it was well meaning and probably good for people who know absolutely nothing about it. |

^ I'm not sure whether to watch it either, it seems like there's not really anywhere to go after the first series. I did like the first series though.

Re: Netflix recommendations
^ The first few episodes actually upset me because I didn't think they were good - they felt weird and laboured and far from the light-hearted silliness of old AR. It finds its feet by episode 4 though, I reckon. And there are some lovely new gems of dialogue and winking self-referencing in there.

^ Something like that. They were definitley under a fiver.
Didn't I read that you haven't watched season 4, though? Series 5 is a direct continuation of what went down in that, so if you ain't seen it the new one ain't gonna make much sense. So put those guns away. |

I'm enjoying Brooklyn Nine-Nine at the moment. Comedy cop show. Very silly, very funny. Plus I find Detective Rosa Diaz extremely sexy.

Re: Netflix recommendations
There's also a follow up, one of documentary, called 'The Staircase II', which picks up from the series and brings you up to date and I guess a conclusion to the story in someways. I think I watched it on The dailymotion website. |

Re: Netflix recommendations
^ Ooo I'm not sure, I haven't had a look at Netflix yet. The Staircase II is a sequel, 2? hour, documentary directed by the same guy but was made about 8 years later. Picks up where the series left off and lets you see what happens to some of the ppl and whats still going on at that point.
If you like these kind of things you should try 'The Jinx', if you haven't already. It's a bit of a slow starter but I was soon hooked. The guy is such a fascinating character and strange choice for a probable serial killer, I found it a really good watch! Esp for his end sentence in the bathroom |

Re: Netflix recommendations
^That we do!
Yeah, he's not easy to watch. I have too'd and fro'd over what I think happened. I did mostly mark him down as guilty (rightly or wrongly). Tho I watched the new bit on netflix - the final episode and I can't help but feel sorry for him. It's really not clear cut esp with the blow poke stuff (you've probably not got that far). Plus I think he's not a naturally emotional expressive guy. I have read the Owl theory, far fetched but certainly not impossible at all. It's a massive shame if he really didn't do it, but it's so hard to be sure. |
