Is the twist that the grandma's actually Bruce Willis? And the grandad... is also Bruce Willis?

Today I watched Still Life. I give it 4 Eddie Marsan's heads out of 5

Tonight I revisited Naked Gun and Beverly Hills Cop for the first time in a year or so and they both still hold their own as fantastic films. 80's cinema just has such a heartwarming feel to it and the soundtracks are incredible.

Yeah, I love the sort of films which take place in one setting. Locke was brilliant.

Z for Zachariah
Started of like i am legend expect its a woman instead of a man. Then she finds 2 other male survivors and it turns into a love triangle. The dog dissappeared with no explanation and it had one of those annoying endings where you have to think what might have happened cos it doesn't show you exactly what happened to one of the characters 5/5

Nightingale
It was hard to tell what was real and what wasn't. For a movie with only 1 actor it was really riveting. It kinda made his downward spiral into madness more personal and intense. 8/10

Coherence 9/10 - This was an amazing film. I don't want to give anything away, because it would spoil it, but I highly recommend it. You understand it on the first viewing, but you have to watch it twice in order to fully appreciate it.

Triangle 7/10 - Great little horror flick. Very similar to Coherence in a way.

I also plan on watching one horror movie a night counting down to Halloween. Should be fun

I thought the acting was some of the best I've ever seen. Movie and TV makers seem scared of only having one person on screen the entire time, so rare is it to see that. It's like they think the audience's attention will wane with only one character on screen for the whole time. But what this film proved is that it can be done, and it can be done because the makers recognised that every single real human being plays about 75 different roles in their daily lives, whether that is just the way they talk to someone specific on the phone or how their current emotional state dictates the way they choose to talk to themselves in the mirror.

It reminded me a lot of that Poe story Tell-Tale Heart or whatever it was called. I thought really highly of this film, purely because of Ayelowo (sic).

Terminator Genisys - 1/10

If Arnie could just do that creepy smile all the way through it'd be the best film ever. I couldn't stop laughing at that

Legend - Tom Hardy was great, but the narration was irritating, and it felt a bit like Eastenders at times. 7/10

Mad Max: Fury Road. Another Tom Hardy film, I'm turning into cordyceps! I wanted to like this but found it disappointing. I suppose it deserves some acclaim for being such a barmy (and, in its way, original) action film. Probably would have been better at the cinema.

Un Chien Andalou 9/10 - Great little surrealist film. I suspect there is nothing to be understood here. It was intended to be a pure experience.

Le Voyage dans la Lune 9/10 - Beautiful work of imaginative art. 1902! Bloody 1902!

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006) 6/10

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) - 7/10

2 certified installments to the series. The remake is a solid take on the original story, the parts they changed and added works well and doesn't ruin the plot or send it off track. There wasn't a part that made me feel disappointment and want to turn off. It starts off scary/sinister then the element of fear starts to gradually build until it becomes and stays terrifying. The Beginning's plot is cool, better than expected choice of events to show how it all started, what caused the family to begin their murderous campaign. Recommend them both to horror fans that haven't seen them before

Just came back from watching The Lobster.

6/10 - amazing idea, poorly executed.

Recently saw:

Red Army: 8/10 - v.good, brought a great human story to the cold war
99 Homes: 5/10 - good moments but generally dragged
Macbeth: 4/10 - I know others loved it but I was bored throughout
An Irrational Man: 8/10 - v.good, engaged throughout despite story being quite subtle

The Green Inferno
Eli Roths homage to cannival holocaust. Haven't seen the original but if its anything like this this its rubbish.Half the movie wasn't even in the jungle and it didn't make any sense. like why they ate the protesters cos the tribe had loads of pigs and cows 3/10
The experimenter
Interesting film about stanley milgrams controversial obedience experiments in the early 60s. Makes you unterstand about why people do horrible stuff. peter sarsgaard is a very underated actor. he's excellent in this 6/10
Beasts of no nation
Very powerful and moving film about being a child soldier in africa civil war. idris elba omg what a performance. I doubt he'll get the recognition he deserves for this role cos he was a paedophile 9/10

Watched The Count of Monte Cristo yesterday - the 2002 version. Enjoyable, but some questionable acting I think it's fair to say xD 6.5/10.

Jurassic World

Saw it when it was at the cinema with my son & really enjoyed it. we watched it again on dvd yesterday. I was his age when I watched the original Jurassic Park in the cinema 20 years ago. This film, especially the ending, was a love letter to all that. Great stuff.

I feel exactly the same about it. Was obsessed with the original as a kid. I like the sequels too and Jurassic World was great at bringing it all back again. Brilliant.

"Spring Breakers" on TV the other night.

An OTT Parody of the antics of US College kids on their annual Spring Vacation/Drunken Rampage down in Florida.

Boozing, drugs, shagging, armed robberies, machine guns and murder. And that was just the girls!!

Totally silly, but surprisingly watchable. 7/10.
