I'm certain previous years have had hotter days though. I notice when it's our hottest, something like 38 degrees Celsius, the streets actually become quieter.

It takes a while for results (about 2 months in my case) but well worth the wait. I also didn't know about the Irish so I was well chuffed to be sure to be sure.

You should do it if you're interested! You just have to gob into a test tube and post it back to them.
Interesting, thanks! I’m really intrigued about it. I know on my mums side of the family, they were Italians who moved here pre-WW2. But I’m not conpletely certain.

Eating a slice of watermelon.

I think they should stop trying to make seedless watermelons and instead make watermelons with bigger seeds so they're easier to spit out.

Lots of small seeds I've given up on sorting out, so now the watermelon is...crunchy.

^ they're yuhm! I always eat the seeds. Now I have several watermelon plants growing inside of me.

One of the best things about going on holiday is that other countries embrace the big seeds.

^Oh man, pinterest, that is internet crack. I'm planning my holiday. Yay. But it's going to rain. Boo. Maybe I'll stop carrying on like an emo teenager afterwards. Maybe that will take more than four days.

Chilling in my cottage, fantasising it's mine. It's literally chilly. I need a rug.

Now you're talking! I can't wait for autumn and winter. I love when there's a chill in the air and you can walk among the fallen leaves in wellies and a big cardie 🍂🍁❄️

Off to Arundel in a bit. Meeting 2 old friends who haven't spent any time together for 10 plus years :/ cause they fell out, gonna be interesting. Their bringing their kids tho so I guess that will be a good ice breaker.

One of them passes where I live on the way so has offered (insisted) to pick me up, she keeps txting me that she's running late etc.. wish I could have just made my own way there (its not far for me). Instead I'm sitting getting anxious and restless waiting.

^ hope you have a lovely time catching up with your old friends. It's good that they have decided to reunite and be friends again.

Have you packed a mini bag of popcorn to open up when one of them brings up the falling out?

^ Thanks biscuits

it was strangely civilized! Guess having the kids helped but I think we've all gotten to an age as well where it's like nah... cba with pettiness. (well till they next fall out at any rate )

^^ Thanks Tubbs yeah it was alright. Went out on a row boat and were chased by a flock of sea gulls whilst trying to feed the ducks/swans

Just handed in my notice on my lovely flat I just can't afford it. I've got 4 months to find something else, failing that might move back in with mum for the interim, but that wouldn't be ideal. I am not in a very good mental head space. These last 2 months both my half-brothers got married, plus my ex got married. Life is brutal and hitting me hard these days and I might be making impulsive reactive decisions rather than thinking through what is best for me. I have nobody to discuss anything with, and mum doesn't really want me home as she thinks I'll start leaning on her financially, which I don't want to do and I understand her not wanting me there.

I just have to find more work and work even harder, and accept that the anxiety volume of my life will have to go up to 11!

^^So sorry to hear what you're going through Counterpoint. It sounds really hard to go through and really stressful. I can sympathise as I was homeless not a long time ago and still rely on short-term rental until I find a stable job. Will it be hard to find a place more affordable?

Thanks Tortilla. Yes, it's not a nice situation to be in is it? I might be overreacting slightly, but there are a number of things that contributed to my decision. I have seen some slightly more affordable places outside London. Of course commuting would add to monthly costs, but if I could find local work that might help. Have to use my imagination as it's very easy to get ourselves into a rut where we don't see any possibilities.

^You're not overreacting Counterpoint Being homeless or the prospect of being homeless is terrifying and makes people feel at their most vulnerable. I understand moving back to your mum's is not ideal, but I'm sure she'd rather you stayed with her than your being in that situation. Also, to talk about your situation and help find ideas, maybe the Citizen Advice would be a good place, or even Shelter? Good luck lovely

^That's good advice, thanks Tortilla. I am not in as vulnerable a position as some people find themselves in in life (I feel guilty complaining because I appreciate I have security in my family that many people won't have). Yet I don't want to lean on this help, but for some reason I struggle to stand on my own two feet and it almost always comes down to anxiety. No matter how many hours I put in I never seem to have enough. It's so difficult for so many these days! Maybe it's time for us all to start a mutually supportive hippie commune!
