Default Difficulty leaving the house is very disabling

Difficulty leaving the house is very disabling . I can leave the flat with my stepdaughter/granddaughters but have an abject fear about venturing out on my own. For me it centres round getting lost and trapped.

I have had fear of leaving the house before, long ago - i can hardly relate to it now because i've forgotten how it feels - but if i were in your shoes i'd start small, like walking around the 'block' and then build from there as you gain confidence.

Get a cheap gps tracker to plot where home is and take one of those out, you'll always know which way and how far from home you are then.

I've tried looking at gps trackers on Amazon. They seem to be (a) Expensive (b) diagrammatic/map based which I'm useless with.

Would someone be able to walk with you to familiarise yourself to a certain route, then maybe you try it solo once you're sure you feel able to make your way back? Could help build your confidence being out alone maybe?

The model i have (Garmin Etrex 12) my dad bought me second-hand, 3+ years ago, on ebay for a tenner - for some reason they're going for about £30 currently, but anyway i wouldn't call that expensive. And it's piss-easy to use.
