Default PPl mentioning the device they're using

I've noticed that in some threads people have brought up 'sent from a (phone make)'. Why do people bring that up sometimes?

Using a phone to type thing is a bugger, my last two replies tonight were sent from my new phone.

What I want to get to is why people bring it up in the first place? Do they feel that people on here will think that they're stupid if they notice little errors that they wouldn't make on a computer? Do they feel that people are watching them send messages and expect them to know everything? Is it more about the situation you're making th post in rather than the device you're using?

Why is the title preceded with PPI? I do not recall entering that. What does it mean?

I thought it was an automatic/involuntary thing too. When I send emails from my phone it always says the 'sent from my phone' thing at the bottom of my message, I usually scroll down and delete it. It's never happened when I post on here from my phone though.
I think I have seen it say sent from my phone via 'tap talk' I think that's an app that lets you view forums through your phone so maybe it is something to do with that...(not entirely sure though)

One of the things making me fearful to even bring this up was the thought that I might get this piss taken. I'm still learning about these sorts of things. The thought I 'should' know all this by default, and that people might check my age, see I'm young enough, then judge me for asking such a silly question. I don't know if any of you guys feel the same?

It's automatically included if you use the app unless you remove or change it.

^^I usually worry about the same thing when making a post on here, but I don't think anybody here would do that, asking a question about something your only just learning about isn't anything to be made fun of! How else would we learn?
I'm probably seen as young enough that I should just automatically know all of this stuff too but I don't. So your not alone!

It's just something Tapatalk adds to your posts unless you change the settings to stop it. No big deal.

^ I also hate it, but most people who do it don't even know they're doing it. I always assume they're not technically minded and don't know how to change the default anyway.

I thought this was going to be about PPI insurance claims cold-callers. Damn sans-serif fonts. I would never do such a thing.
