Tetanus shot - if you've had it please help!
Has anyone here had the tetanus jab/shot/injection?
I had mine on friday...I was a brave girl! The actual injection didn't hurt much at all and I was very suprised. But now I have an aching arm and a light pink patch on my arm, just under where the injection was. Has anyone else had it and maybe even had this reaction? I know it's not a huge reaction (my mum's arm swelled up when she had it!) but it don't half ache! I still can't properly lay on it in bed and am very aware of it and careful not to touch it. |

I've had it and had the exact same reaction to it. So no worries.

Don't worry Shydoll, it's a perfectly normal reaction to a vaccination. You will probably feel that you have been punched in the arm as the muscle is sore it may feel heavy/painful to lift but it will gradually fade away.
You might feel some flu-like symptoms for a couple of days, so don't exert yourself too much and get plenty of rest. Again this is totally normal and just your immune system reacting from the safe minute dose of the disease in the vaccine and producing antibodies as a result, thus building your own body's immunity by having a ready made defence to protect yourself in the future should you come across the harmful antigens. |

I had the same reaction, it's normal. To make it worse I had lots of other shots at the same time (was going on a tropical holiday) and so my arms killed and I literally couldn't move them for nearly a week.
