Default Your Favourite Animated/Cartoon Films?

Mine are Beauty and the Beast, Nightmare Before Christmas and Watership Down, I liked all the Studio Ghibli ones I've seen too.

Please tell me your favourites, I'm looking for some ideas for new ones to watch.

right now it's THE F*CKING STARVENGERS!

god dam i've really got the horn for this vintage mecha saga right now.

pretty soon this guy from it will be my avatar -

its a series tho, not a movie. i think there was a movie of it though, as well as the series.

also, its always worth sneaking some comedy nipples into a childrens cartoon!

if you wanna see what its all about, you can actually find it on youtube. here's the first of three parts of the first episode -

if you get hooked, look on youtube for "getter robo", its the same cartoon but in japanese, with subtitles (and swearing! ).

Hard to pick my favourite ever, but out of recent stuff (relatively recent, I know it's technically been out for a few years) really loved Ponyo

Also, big fan of manga classics like Akira!

Nightmare Before Christmas is amazing! Saw it on the cinema when it first came out and then again when they released the 3D version! Don't think Corpse Bride was anywhere near as good

Wow, I've never even heard of Starvengers (I like the look of that bloke with the long hair though ).

I loved Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds, that was a series too though.

I saw it in 3D too, it was great. I like Corpse Bride, but didn't like the music so much.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Shrek. The Little Mermaid is my other favourite Disney cartoon after Beauty and the Beast.

classic oliver postgate is the best way to spend a hungover/reclusive sunday, if we're straying from films.

Great minds think alike.

Watership Down is actually pretty grisly in places, I wonder how many parents took their young kids to see it, thinking it's a cute film about fluffy bunnies.

There's a film version of Felidae (not as good as the book but worth watching), it's a feline murder mystery.

perhaps you remember a cartoon called G Force/Battle of the Planets??

it used to be on tv am, mid eighties i would guess...well, g force was ripped off wholesale from the series of cartoons starvengers came from, as far as i can tell.

you should check starvengers out! that one i linked to has some wonderfully stupid dialogue in it, some really idiotic lines

Mysterious cities of gold was the best animation ever IMO, hands down. It's a series though and not a film.

I also like Waltz with Bashir.

And Alma (it's only 5 minutes long):

Advent Children had some amazing action sequences in it although I wasn't a bit fan of the dialogue (a bit hammy):

I love all the Pixar stuff, except for Cars and Ratatouille.

Oh and a bunch of the old Disney stuff like Aladdin, Lion King, 101 Dalmations, Beauty and the Beast and The Jungle Book.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was surprisingly great as well.
