Default Cosmetic Surgery

About two weeks before my period my boobs always grow from an A to a B cup but although this is great news for me they are really painful, too sensitive to 'play' with (chance would be a fine thing!)

So I was thinking about breast implants-I can't afford them of course and I was holding out for the wonder-drug injection that scientists are developing which boosts cup size, you have to keep getting them every 6 months of so but it's worth it.

So I might skip that, plus it's a bit sad to lose your sensitivity even if it's painful. I wanted my nose doing though cos it's like a big Roman nose, I've grown to like it's nobility but I'd love it to be smaller.

My ears are also sticky outy, at upper school people made fun of me for it and today whats drawn my attention back to them was that the police who I fancy and they fancy me (at least I hope they still do) were sat RIGHT behind me on the bus, I was already conscious of ears sticking out cos I wore a high tight ponytail or chav facelift type up-do so I was like pressing my ears back, not continuously but just once and it was clear I was self conscious about them.

We'd almost reached the interchange when I saw these two police officers chatting behind me, I got off, I have to get away incase I choke, they know I swallow alot anyway so that wouldn't have been that weird, I suppose their used to it.

They'd also seen me looking around with my big nose, I'd been singing along to my ipod as well *cringe*.

When I got off they were watching me walk down the stairs, I was pissed off I'm not sure why. They just caught me off guard.

Have you considered surgery and how do you know if the desire is justified or just stems from low self-confidence.

Firstly, just with reference to the breast implant thing, are you talking about stem cell injections there, or a macrolane type filler? And are you still considering implants? If so there's some information I'd like to make you aware of in case you haven't read it, I looked into all the options in great detail with my ex-girlfriend and once you uncover all the facts about the different surgeries it narrows your options quite considerably.

Also I wondered if you have read anything about BDD?

Your question is a very tough one to answer...... and I suppose it will be personal to some extent. Personally I'm of the mindset that it takes all shapes and sizes of people to make up the world, so it should be possible to feel happy in your body regardless of the way you look. I can understand people with actual disfigurements wanting surgery, but just general cosmetic procedures seem way too easily available to me and treated far more lightly by society than they should be in my opinion.

I loved your "chance would be a fine thing" by the way, made me laugh.

Default Re: Cosmetic Surgery

I have considered it and I'm probably going to have it done.

I've lost some weight and have more to lose and I think the weight is coming off my boobs! Theyre just like empty carrier bags now. GROSS ALERT! ONLY SCROLL DOWN IF YOU'RE NOT EATING!

I can actually pinch the skin and hold the boobs up and it doesnt even hurt! And when I leave the house I have to wear a push up bra (which has thin straps so it doesnt hold everything up sooo) and I have to wear a little sports top over the top then my tshirt or top. It's ridiculous and very sweaty in the summer months =(

So I'm trying to shift the extra 4stone then I'll go talk to someone seriously about having the skin taken off and the boobs plumped up a little, nothing huge just a c cup or something. But the doctor has told me its a total possibility on the NHS as it's affecting my confidence and I'm not just a little size 8 girl wanting big knockers! I've just got to lose the weight or I'll just be back to square one when it's all gone ...Struggling with it at the mo so the boob job idea's on the back burner a bit right now =(

As you say she was very pretty in a completely wholesome way and now just looks like some barbie clone that's come off a production line, very unnatural.

Oh my god! What a bloody mess!

I have no idea who this dimwit is, but she looked really naturally pretty before she massacred her looks.

Why the hell is a 23 year old getting botox!?! Sheesh, I'm 29 and don't even need that rubbish. She's made herself look much older than she did. She now just looks like plastic, dead-eyed blow-up doll. She's really gonna regret getting that liposuction in her neck in a few years time.

Masked Girl, you mentioned something about guys finding her more attractive now; I don't think there's any truth in that what so ever! I would seriously doubt any guy would find this modified version more attractive, and if they do then they they need a proverbial slap.

It really is so sad, as she was very naturally beautiful before and has now just spoiled her looks. All personality and emotion has been tweaked or botoxed out of her.

I know this might sound somewhat weird, but I seriously don't think I could even touch her..... I'd be uncomfortable to even be near her, she doesn't look real in any way whatsoever, and that would make me her seem scary as a person!

That doesn't sound weird, at all. That's sounds like, one, who is sound of mind.

I sometimes wish I was a little more curvy and I had more of a J-lo butt. But that is crazy! I'm happy enough with what I've got, thank you, if that's the alternative. My bottom will do me just fine.

Bet it would be Mad comfy though, you would never need another cushion in your life.

Even better would be some sort of valve so you could inflate at will like a pair of Rebock Pumps
I might just patent that

I must be a weird girl then. Recieving flowers do nothing for me, I don't get it really. They are beautiful to look at in nature or a garden or whatever, but flowers as a gift don't move me or bother me in the slightest, and then I feel bad about having to feign gratitude. My mum winds me up about one time my ex bought me a dozen red roses and I just kinda left them to start wilting in my room until my mum rescued them and put them in a vase of water. I'm really not a typical girl, when it comes to things like this.. I do like romance but maybe not in the conventional way. The most sincere gift ever received was simply a cd; my ex made me a compilation consisting of songs that expressed how he felt about me, which costed next to nothing but it was really personal and sweet.

I can imagine what you mean about your boobs Shydoll and it's really not as big a deal to others as it is to you but it's good if you can get a proceedure under the NHS and I bet after that they'll look perfect, it's like what we see on TV a woman who has that kind of boob issue and then she comes back beaming and feeling confident again so it will work out okay.

Heidi did look good before, if she'd have left it at a nose job it would be subtle enough to be beautiful but now she has a frozen look, slightly swollen and I feel a bit sorry for her cos my impression of her was one half of the annoying Spidey couple

But she's had the works and it's the kind of fixed look that you'd expect to see on very much older women trying fight time. Her surgeon must not really have her best interests at heart. A good surgeon would have refused all the tummy tuck stuff and dissuaded the major ops to consider later, exercise would have done her mind more good than lipo & stuff, esp. being cooped up in that house. Aww.

Unless surgery it's going to be a major improvement, like some nosejobs are life changing but other stuff like bleached hair, tan, boobs job it doesn't necessarily make you look better it just creates an image, under harsh lights the high maintenance look can be rough so it depends.

I'd have my teeth done all veneers which is one of the most expensive proceedures I think. Don't want to resort to boobs but mine are practically invisible so dressing for summer is tricky, my sister says small boobs are classy but I feel normal with bigger ones, I feel like other girls.

The ear pinning back proceedure makes me cringe and I'm not bothered about my ears much anyway and my nose has a few hairline wrinkles down the bridge, only very faint but a nose job would make that worse-unless it was just on the tip.

A good diet and exercise is probably the best thing you can do on an un-glamourous budget.

There was programme on BBC a while back where some girl who suffered from BDD had had 9 nose jobs, but still wasn't happy with her nose and had booked in for a 10th one.

In real severe cases of BDD I don't think plastic surgery is the right thing, it's a psychological thing so it's highly likely you still won't be happy after the surgery.

I think many people would agree with you about romantic gestures meaning more when they are most personal. The flowers thing is a weird one.... my ex-gf was a strident feminist and took it to extremes in my opinion.... things like holding the door open for her were seen as echoes of a time when male chauvinism ruled. But then thinking about it a few months ago, if the shoe were on the other foot and she were to hold the door open for me, buy me flowers, etc, then I'd love those overt signs that she cared. And I love flowers in general, their delicate, transient beauty, so a woman buying me a bunch would completely blow me away.

Obviously not all of them, as you point out here:

Men who objectify women know that they are more than their looks, they just don't want to ever see that side of the woman, because they aren't interested in it, they are simply interested in the sex.

I think many guys aren't that fussed about a girl's breast size; they're happy enough with whatever; also more guys seem to be into bottoms, instead.

Be proud of what you've got, girlies! Whatever shape and size, you are.

Oh, I'm by no means a 'strident feminist' or anything. Flowers are nice to look at in a vase etc, but they just don't get me all excited. I love seeing them outside when they are still in the ground. I didn't mean to come across as uncaring; that's not the case at all, I'm just not always really 'girlie' with such things, though it doesn't mean I have a heart of stone.

I love chivalry and good manners and think it's really sweet when a guy holds a door open for you etc and don't take offence at all. I can't stand when a guy just lets a door swing shut in your face! How rude?! Ha ha

Aww, G1. You're a sweetie. You have a big bunch of flowers coming your way!

Oh yeah, since when did 'sweet' become a dirty word?

^^^ Hi Flutterbug and Masked Girl. I only quoted the first line about Mossieman liking smaller breasts. Upon reading the rest of the comment in detail, I do agree with both of you that it is indeed very offensive.

We all naturally come in different shapes and sizes; we should be proud of our natural assests, and not try to conform to the latest fashionable and media-perceived idea of what it is to be beautiful.

You have depressed now as you are right and i've changed my mind- most men do objectify women and although women can be bitches to each other when it comes to looks , trying to look like a porn star IS about pleasing men

Women are ruining themselves so they can look like weird porno dolls-
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...................! Sorry I've depressed you!!!! I don't think that most men objectify women, just some!

That woman certainly does look like some weird porno doll though! Why anyone would do that to themselves is beyond me, even for all the money in the world. If she has BDD then that's another issue.....

I wasn't suggesting that you're uncaring at all!!!!! Seems like I need to watch my words when there's women around.... (yes, that was a deliberately sexist joke!!!! It would be more the gesture behind it that I'd like.

I've pm'ed you my home address so that you can send the flowers! Would I be pushing it to ask for champagne too?

Don't worry about us girlies; just the wrong time of the month. See, we can take the mick out of ourselves. What's that line again from Anchorman, about us women attracting bears when on our period. ! I wore a little cleavage boosting top since it was lush sunny today and my word, the police certainly appreciated it!

I still have a very small rack, I'm in proportion though so it doesn't look weird but I've made up my mind that something must be done about these tatas, I'm gonna start exercising too!

Really have to look my best, all I can think about is the police. Sigh* I'm gonna try everything I can to get bigger boobs from wild yam in the long term to breast enhancement creams in the short term. Then bring on those summer dresses WooHoo!

I'm not sure you can handle the pressure of modern life if you want a painful op for extra girth. Just learn other techniques to please the ladies and ignore comments some have made to you

I doubt as many men have enlargements as women do and i'll never forget reading how "Women who get cosmetic breast implants are nearly three times more likely to commit suicde" , proof of how many women probably have psychiatric problems and think surgery is the cure.[/QUOTE]

yes i think women should keep away from plastic surgery unless its urgent, a lot of women have had boob jobs like someone i know who had it done privately and it was botched, and she ended up on a nhs ward getting it fixed, its a operation that needs a lot of serious thought, the natural look is best,
