Technically it's still summer, summer doesn't magically end because August did! (3 days ago..) Still the propensity to yield some high temperatures. But yeah best few months now.

I've just come back from a walk with the dog - there's some great early evening walking out there, and if you want some spirit-lifting, i thoroughly recommend it.

Above average in Sunny Aberdeen today, with Temps almost touching 16C !!!! . Actually, its perfectly pleasant for once, and likely to last for a few days.

Hopefully the sun and low winds will last till Monday when I go for a long Hike up Badundun Hill, and Glen Isla on Monday.

^I was in the town centre at the time. Had an appointment to go to. The rain was bad enough but a car also drove by through a puddle and semi doused me aswell

Is it too early for scarves?

Scarves before gloves?

I've had both for my morning walks for the last week now!

Usually gloves before scarf though.

The flooding round here is bad. The next village to me has a flood plain for the River Arun, so it always floods every year, but this is certainly the worst I can remember it. Police shut one of the main roads last night.

And it's still raining...

^ Funny that, cos i'm doing similar (book, tea, sat with a blanket) but the sound is coming primarily from the chimney and causing a right racket!

Storm Ciara is blowing very violently here in the south-east and I fear the damage it is causing to the trees

I don't know if I have good timing or bad - the first I heard about Ciara was on the flight home yesterday evening, so it seemed that I'd come home just in time for bad weather, but then today I have been reading about flight disruptions, so maybe it's as well I came home when I did! All seemed really calm when I set off from Stansted, but the wind on the A14 threatened to blow the car across lanes and when I arrived home, I had that thing where it takes several attempts to open the car door, then trying to stop it thudding into the vehicle in the next bay!

By the way, if anyone sees my garden fence, can you please return it to me?

The wind and rain have a made water drip through my ceiling. There’s also flooding not far from my flat but luckily I live uphill from all of it. I also watched some twat try to drive his Merc through a flood. It didn’t end well.

Our wheelie bin had blown accross the garden in the night and it's been pretty noisy but that's about it so far. Managed to make it to the nearest shop earlier without being blown away

It reminds me of Mary Poppins and all the other nannies (rival job applicants) being blown away with their umbrellas. Yes, I know that is a very uncool pop culture reference.

I was a bit underwhelmed by storm Ciara, there have been a few trees blown over and the odd wheelie bin has gone AWOL but that's about it.

If anyone complains in the summer of it being too hot, let's remind them of this last 3 weeks of absolute shite weather and ask would they prefer that?
Nah, i'd rather this than weeks of stifling heatwave, thanks.

Amen to that. Whenever this gloom and drizzle gets me down, I think back to last summer. I would rather put up with anything than that suffocating heat. I can never understand the obsession some Brits have with Australia - like it’s some new paradise. It doesn’t appeal to me at all. Forty degrees!! Are you ****ing me! And giant spiders. Ugh. I’m looking forward to the spring, but I am dreading a repeat of last summer.

I'd much prefer suffocating heat to relentless cold and rain I can't wait for this time of year to be over.

Move to Derbyshire - all we got last summer was rain!

It's sunny in Essex today.
