Default hi

Hi,I decided to finally say hello to everyone as I have finally came to terms with the fact that I suffer from Social Phobia/Anxiety and have been living like a recluse with my family for the past 7 years now due to it.
I am atlast getting some form of help now after being in hospital for 3 months after having a psychotic episode.
I also suffer from severe depression which is related to the anxiety,I have felt like I am the only person in the world who suffers from this alot of the time which has stopped me from joining any forums.
I am hoping to make some friends who are in the same boat as myself and hoping to one day overcome my anxiety.
cheers!

Living like a recluse is probably more common than you think. At least websites like this give people the opportunity to break out of that cycle.

Welcome.

Hi there. It sounds like you're on the right track, and talking to people with similar problems is bound to help. Good luck!

Thumbs up Re: hi

Thanks.
SA and depression has ruined my life in so many ways along with my family relationships, friends, jobs etc, etc.
I am just glad I am not the only one suffering.
Hopefully I will get well again in time.

Hi Bullybeef and welcome

I can relate to a lot of what you have said, I've also suffered psychotic episodes related to depression and anxiety so you're not alone. I find it really hard to talk about my feelings and I know how much courage it takes. I hope you find the forums helpful.

Hi and welcome. Hope that wasn't too horrid being commited to a hospital, you get some horror stories about such things. :/

Default Re: hi

thanks to both of you!
I never had a good experience in hospital and am glad that I am back home.
I have known for years that I suffer from SA but for the past seven years I gave into it and it got really severe.I am being seen as an outpatient now though and hope to eventually overcome it and get some of my life back.
best wishes for xmas and new year!
